Apparently there is a cameo. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I haven't found him either. Maybe it's in Act 3...

In my DAO playthrough Alistair didn't become king. So he's in the hanging man, a broken drunk, calling himself a traitor. Nice touch!

No, actually. If Allistar becomes the King, you meet him later on. He asks you to continue defending Kirkwall and gives you 5 gold along with making a reference to the Warden. That's all.

Check the link for Alistair as king cameo, it's obviously a spoiler anyway.

As Andreas said ya... if he becomes the King he tells you to come see him in the Keep via a letter, from here you talk with him and can even ask to be placed as the ruler of Kirkwall, and his Uncle says that they have to hurry back to Denerim where the Hero of Ferelden will be waiting (My import, my warden survived.) to which Alistar replies

"Why are you always so formal... he has a name you know?"

So he doesn't appear if he's a GW? I have one play through where he was king and my warden was princess consort and a second where he stayed a GW.

Man, he was so much better looking in Origins as was Teagan. I think the art dept needs to be fired.  I certainly hope Bioware does give us a toolset so we can fix the awful mistakes.

I would like to see him slimmer and with his mouth higher up.  When he speaks you can only see his bottom teeth, which is weird lol.

My first playthrough I imported a save where I told Anora to execute him.

The new face morph system fails utterly when it comes to recreating old Origins people. It doesn't help that most other DA2 NPCs all have same-ish facial features with the same bloated jaw/cheeks, and the same rounded out noses. Everyone just has the same lifeless Botoxed up look.

And I wouldn't even say that they're that much more expressive. I don't understand why they mucked up the faces as much as they did.

This.

The main characters of DA2 look absolutely fine, but the DAO characters look......terrible.

Anders being the exception.

Alistair- What the hell.

Merril- Was fine until I saw her hands. Jesus Christ.

Isabella- Again, totally fine. But AGAIN, the hands.

Bann Teagan- I didn't mind him too much, actually. But he looked too generic.

Don't get me started on the rest.

The new art style? I don't hate it, but I don't like it, especially if it means we won't get DAO's art style back.

DAO>DA2, as far as art style and graphics are concerned, at least in my opinion.

I can't imagine how they'd of ruined characters like Cailan, Anora, and Duncan had they needed to come back.

(By the way, I'm only 20 hours into the game, 2nd act, 3 years since arrival)

It's good that in this playthrough I'm preparing to import to DA2 alistair by then is a pile of ashes (if he was indeed thrown to the pyre) if not it wouldn't really matter to me. I did liked isabela's line "Aren't we all?" hahaha. As it has been mentioned, this doesn't really bodes well for the future face morphs in my opinion for DA3 in case Morrigan returns.

Yes, he is in DA2

SPOILER:

If you exiled him, he's in the hanged man at one point, and Bann Teagan comes and drags his ass back to Ferelden

He makes a cameo, and after a little dialogue, he gave me the Warden's Oath pendant.
