Seriously!!!??? Couldn't Bioware just give us the code??!! NO. They had to try and boost their marketing by having people register for their DLC. I preordered my DA2 game at Gamestop for my PS3. When I picked it up and asked for the code, the salesperson had no idea what I was talking about. Finally figured it out about registering the game. Unfortunately for the guy in front of me, they never told him anything like that.
On top of trying to register, god willing they give decent directions on how to do it. It's like being stuck in a maze, and my crap still isn't in the game!!!! Bioware could have at least put up straightforward directions. Not surprising to see so many post concerning people still not getting their DLC.
I already gave them $60 for the game, and by doing the DLC through the registration it's just Bioware's way of getting more marketing information. I am very dissappointed to see a reputable company like this shame itself and lower itself like this. I will not be preordering any game for them anymore. The point of preordering the game was to get the "cool" item no one else can get. The Companies love it because they get to post and track sales before the game is even released. Looks good to stock holders but sucks for the gamers!!!
my 2 cents

You are absolutely right! I cant believe all the hoops we have to jump through just to get the stuff that was promised to us for pre-ordering the game. They really need to fix this. Not to mention the technical issues that came up on the website and psn store itself when trying to redeem codes.

So, what needs to be fixed, exactly? The PSN store?
The PSN store errors had nothing to do with Bioware - Sony merely hadn't updated the store yet. If you try it now, you won't get a error, unless the game region doesn't match the region your PSN account is from.
As for the codes, it isn't a big deal - you got the items in the end, right? So you had to register on here, so everyone on the PS3 version got them. Normally, Pre-Order weapons and armor is fairly weak, so by the middle of the game it's usually rubbish. Moreover, this is a single player game - We can't go online and show off to our friends or anything, so why does it matter if everyone has it or not?
And, for the record, the point of preordering is to reserve a copy of a game you want. The items are just a bonus for doing so. before giving items became common practice, it was rare to get anything for it.

Bioware could have just the Code in the box as they have done before, or print out on the receipt at the store when you pick it up; which again was a tried and true method. My issue isn't just the perks which are admittedly weak, but the hoops that we have to jump through for buying their product. Which was advertised, when you preorder, you receive a code for such and such, but in actuality was no such thing. No code and didn't have to preorder; just register.
Don't really play online, so don't really consider that an issue. Just annoyed that they changed the method for no good reason other than to gather marketing information. And this method doesn't seem to be working for everyone. Many people are having issues as can be witnessed on Bioware's social forums.
Also, never had an issue finding a game I wanted even on the release date. If you preorder it, most are going to pick it up the first or second day. In my many years of gaming, I've always found the game. Again, it's a marketing ploy; "look everyone, there's not enough of that new thing you want, so you better run and get it." When in actuality- it's there.
I am not a consumer with a stick up my but. I work in Marketing and this is done all the time. I just hoped that Bioware and EA were above this. Especially when most of their base are kids/teenagers. That age group is money in hand already, no need to make them do this.

There was a code to get the DLC in my box...? Maybe I am misreading your post, but I had no problem getting the DLC from the PSN.

Was that the Black Emporium? Which was great so I could change my characters facial features; messed up and didn't realize till the game started.
I am talking about Sword and Shield you get when you register on this site.

Yea when I got it I asked for the code and the guy said, and I quote "What code?".
After about 10 mins explaining to him he looked at some email he got with all the codes on it and it gave instructions on how to get it for the ps3.
If I didn't know about the preorder bonus I would of never asked and would of never got the items.

The UPC Code is the number under the barcade and you need to use the numbers to the left and right as well.. Quit whining... I understand this may be the first time you registered a game but if you didnt know what a UPC code is google it.

Some people are just so lazy to type in a bar code for registration.

I have Ultimate Edition DA and I have to pay for all the parts that wwas to be on the disk and then I register it. the system tells me that I have to come here and find out how to get the armour and everything else I get and there no place on here to tell you how to do that plus when you try to do anything but preset my system will not let me plus it locks up some of the time

Calling it a rip off is a little extreme....a little confusing and a pain in the arse...well, maybe.
