Im past the deep roads and so far have had only one flirt option with her is this normal or did i miss something?

It's normal. Romances don't really progress until Act 2 (after the Deep Roads).

The Romances progress along the same line as the Main Quest does, so the deeper in you go the more options you will get.

so i should go back after each plot quest?

I wouldn't worry about timing, you'll be duly informed in the Companion section of your Journal when they are available to talk and continue the romance with that specific character.

I'm about to enter the Deep Roads and have only had one flirt option with her so far. It was right after completing her quest with the Dalish and it was just something along the lines of "Well I am glad you're here." The funny thing is, she didn't even notice, it seemed to go right over her head. Which was perfect in keeping with her personality.

I would lose all patience with her ineptitude in life, and my character has done so in the game. So now I'm going to punish her by making her deal with demons or somthing.

She also talks about a mugging she watched outside her window.  So Id say 2 so far before the deep roads, but might be wrong, trying to finish all the remaining quest before i progress that part of the story.

Merril's easy. I just had her show up at my FemmeHawke's house out of the blue and for lolz, I flirted a little with her which lead to a romance scene and my Hawke inviting her to move in. I'll probably reload, I wanna romance Fenris.

Now Fenris on the other hand, ugh, I don't even know if I'm still in a romance with him or not, lol.

Fenris just needs to be tooken outside Kirkwall at the right point to activate his mission, once the mission's done, you'll have your chance.

I think there are two for Merrill. There's a halla carving that you buy from the Dalish merchant at Sundermount, and a Sylvanwood ring that you...find somewhere. I can't remember. I think it's in Act 3.

It's probably been answered by now but I'll admit I didn't read every response, so here's how you make it work:

Merrill's romance starts after her questioning belief Act 2 quest. After 'Blackpowder courtesy', the first act 2 quest, Merrill's "mirror image" gets added. Finish that, then go to her house and talk about the quest result. If this puts you at 50 rivalry or friendship with Merrill, you can start her questioning beliefs quest. Flirt with her here and the next time you go to your house, she'll visit you there.

There is maybe 2 flirts in Act 1. Act 2 starts with not much for Merrill. You need enough approval for the romance to really kick over. Be it friendship or rivalry. Either way it's easy to get her through those points in my opinion. Just don't cap her friendship if you want a rivalry with her. Anyway to get the romance through you'll need approval, give her the gift from Ilen's shop, lastly there is a questioning beliefs kind of quest at her house.

Long story short, don't fret. Do the flirts when they show up. Give her a gift if you want to. Be patient and she'll show up at your house. Even if she was yelling at you and kicking you out of her place
