I have Vista Service pack 2
My graphic card is geforce 8800 GT 512 MB (I know my graphic card video ram is not sufficent but I heard some people still paying DX 11 with decent framerate so I wanted to try it.)
But since I have vista service pack 2 I should have an option to select DX 11
but i cannot select the option even after intsalling the high-res version.
can someone help me how to enable DX 11 version so that I can at least select the option?
DX 11 option cant be selected even after installing the high-res

Your video card does not support DirectX 11.

but there is no option for dx10! my 8800gts 340mb plays threw the demo on dx11 setting without a hitch. now with official game im missing textures or something. half my legs are invisible unless i take my boots off. the Templars skin was white when he was dieing (i mean you cant see the black vains and his skin is shiny like metal) and the interrogators eyes where bugged out. now im looking at a floating head. i will try a few things...

yes yes I know that but I am supposed to choose Direct x 11 since it also inculedes Directx 10 features
and there are people who are able to choose D11 option without any problem

It doesn't make any difference. For simplicity's sake, the game lumps them together.Deran2 wrote...

Say what? I've heard nothing about a patch rolling out, though that would be pretty awesome...link?

I have a GTS 250...and while it isn't DX11...I was under the impression that all DX10 card could select very high to get SOME features...

No, only "High" quality, but the game settings for Dx11 work for Dx10. { Even if you could select "Very High", your card is just too old of a design to handle it (renamed 9800 GTX Plus card, is what it is)}.abadomen wrote...

You can select the DX11 renderer, but you can only select "High" which enables DX10 features. Very High is DX11 only.

sweet after steam patched the game (around 220Mb) everything is running great. 1680x1050, high, DX11. its running smooth on my 8800gts.
i installed the game, installed the DLC, tried playing and thats when i had the missing texture/floating head problem. by the time i started messing with settings i noticed steam was downloading a patch. the start time was around the same time the game finished downloading. i dont see any mention elceware about a patch so???
Q: on a 20" lcd at native resolution should i use AA or AF at all? What differences might i see?

I had this issue also. I wanted to render in DX10, which requires you to select the DX11 renderer, but the option wasn't available. I am running:
Vista SP2
nVidia GTX 295
Here's how I got it to work:
First, run "dxdiag" and see what version of DirectX you are running. If you are running DX10, DA2 will NOT allow you to select the DX11 renderer. If you are running DX10, downlaod and install this update:
http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en
Even though I was running SP2, Vista was, for some reason, not updated to DX11. Installing that update took care of it, as it bumped my DX version up to DX11.
If you are already running DX11, I don't know what the issue is.
Good luck.
