Wow, everything is perfect in Dragon age 2. I love the changes, storyline so far, and side quests are actually fun now! I'm 5 1/2 hours into it and still haven't done the deep roads expedition. I hope I still have a long ways to go yet!
I concur. It makes me wonder what game all the trolls have been playing, because it sure isn't the DAII I'm finding.

If DA2 is a master piece than Cooking Mama should get GoTY award for best RPG...seriously the game is alright, but it's nowhere near the trash/perfect game people are making it out to be.
Oh, it isn't perfect. I even found a bug where Aveline was fighting with her fists even though she had weapon and shield equipped. And I would like to skip some of the cutscenes after the fourth or fifth time seeing them (I've been trying all possible combinations trying to settle on a main archetype and it is getting pretty old watching Varrik's toes scraping on the floor as he's dragged into interrogation).
But I am really enjoying the game to the point where those complaining seem quite alien.
Other hand I wonder if that fistfighting behavior in Aveline might have been actually a feature: at the time the weaponry she had equipped was the same as she used in the intro: Possibly the AI has a routine checking her available weapon combinations and found she had better DPS/armor with her bare knuckles?

Well Trolls always finds something to troll about ... or they just start name calling ...
I did love the fact that Varric makes a comment about 'nobles' always finding something to complain about.

I am 16 hours and still havent done the deep roads. Dont understand why some people rush a game... even worse, after rushing complain that the game is too short , not enough RPG (after rushing
The only thing I find DA2 lacking is the epic sensation that DAO provides. Characters in DAO also seem slightly more interesting (at least while I am still in ACT I, I might change my mind later). Even so, it is still very fun to play Hawke as a mercenary who is trying to make money so that his family may have a better life. Yeah! I just got ownership to half a mine... hope that guy dont double cross me
Everything else, the graphics, the art style, the combat system I like infinitely more than DAO. The 2 strongest impression DAO made onto me are:
1 ) Epic sensation.
2 ) Painfully annoying and frustrating combat

Goodness, what are you doing? I did all the quests I could rummage up and only made about 13 hours worth before the Deep Roads.

This game is just something different, but STILL thoroughly enjoyable.
Speaking crap about a game just because one feel betrayed in his own very personal view of the whole thing is just silly.
This is a fun, enjoyable game, totally re-playable and very well done, and I totally liked it even though am a thirtysomething core gamer who played all BW titles several times.
Just my 2 cents.

Enjoying the sceneries, checking out rumours quest, running in and out to get companions banters, reading codex, visit the brothel etc.
You know, the tiny things of life because Hawke doesnt have to save the world from anything so he has more time to monkey around.

Playing. Exploring. Experimenting.
We aren't rushing. The game is in the journey, not its end.

Hahah I can see playing with companion banter and the brothel making up the time, honestly.

How dare you stray from the "Dragon age II sucks" bandwagon!? Who do you think you are to say good things abou Dragon age II?
Seriously though, I agree with you totally (although at the time of this posting, I am past the deep roads). Those that don't like this game are entitled to their opinion, but so are we.

Let me start by saying if you want RPG of the year I would bet 5,000 gold on TES V Skyrim. DA 2 is great but just look at minor things such as clipping in cutscenes and the re-use of previous areas. As I said minor things but to trump TES V you must have perfection.
I know so many were up in arms over the changes from Origins to DA2 and I love them to be honest. The writing is as expected top notch so bravo to your writers. The characters are easy to fall in love with and the quests and dialogue are easy to put in the memory banks.
With DA2 only having about a year and a half (assuming devolpment time since the first release) it is an incredible game. Given 4 or 5 years and who knows. I certainly don't want to wait that long for DA3.
Not trying to be a negative guy or a jerk, just saying that "Masterpiece" is being used a bit liberally.

See, I would put my money down on DA2 because I dont think TES has ever produced anything like the story or companions that Bioware can. That, ultimately, is the real heart of any RPG, character and choice, and its hard to see how TES can reach the summit thats basically owned by Bioware.
Well good sir we are each entitled to his/her opinion. However to retort I have to say if story was all that mattered I'd go with a movie or book, although games are very quickly catching up.
For me, nothing immerses me in the game world like TES does. You're not constantly hit with load screens or just fast traveling around. You can walk from each place through a very living world that is fully imagined. This pulls me in and lets me place myself in my characters shoes.
That said, give me a god-child that is made by Bethesda Game Studios with the Bioware team writing quests, dialoge and characters and you have a game so great it would blow up the world lol
