I can't see how that Fenris can even lift that sword. I think it weighs more than he does. Now there's a thought. Sword lifts Fenris, smash Fenris against enemy. Sounds good. I can't stand that whiny brooding character anyway. Merrill is just..... creepy.

I think the elves in Dragon Age Origins and Awakenings were certainly more attractive. A couple of the character I made in Orgins were Elves, now I am too disgusted with the new grapics to play one. And yeah, I am sick of Fenis's pity party. I liked the idea of the tattoo's all over, but he is excessively anorexic looking. Also, I found Anders more attractive in Awakenings, than I do now. However he is just as annoying constantly whining about having to give up that stupid cat!

When it comes to the matter of how the elves look like in this game, I think that they look a lot better. In the last agem, they just seemed like shorter humans with pointy ears, this time around they actoually look like a different race. They have different acial features, they talk with various degrees of accent, to me, that made me belive a lot more in the fact that they really are supposed to be a different race/people.

Well nothing beats the elves of JRRT ;P Anyhow, i liked the elves in DA:O more, but i think the elves in DA2 is ok too. Who is to say what's right and wrong. This may be Biowares idea of elves.

Let's be fair here - the concept art looked OK..it just wasn't implemented properly.
There are some nice looking elves in the game (the smuggler, the girl you save from that nutso in the cave, Merril), but most are fugly....

And as I love elves I downloaded a mod which allows you to play as an elfe (it changes Hawke family and Gamlen too, but god, Carver's ugly) it's not lore friendly, but it's funny. Elven armors roxx

I feel like it is more pleasing to drill my eyes out than look at the new elves. And they are supposed to be beautiful, so I personally don't like the change.

Fenris looks like an emo Final Fantasy character who defies the laws of physics with his sword, which is about as large as him. His looks annoy me, his tone annoys me, his "Ooh, you can't understand what I have gone through...I have a dark past and my soul is filled with pain, black as pudding... Ooh..." annoys the **** out of me.
Gah. I hated him so deeply. But again, it's just my opinion.

The new elves are awesome much better than the DA:O elves who just didn't look as distinctive and not-quite-human as I would have liked.
I mean, these are creatures that used to be immortal they shouldn't look exactly like stubby wee humans with pointy ears since they are a totally alien species.

People keep b!tching about this as if it's some sin unique to Fenris. It's true for pretty much every two-handed warrior in both games, especially the dwarves, and excluding Sten and Jory (and even with those two, the weapons are still nearly a match to their height).

There are a number of real swords that were that large. The scottich claymore could be about 5 1/2 ft long, same with the flamberge, some swords reached up to 6ft in total length. So a two handed sword that seems oversized is not all that far off from the real world.

Yeah, I know that BFSs exist in the real world, though as a general rule, DA two-handed weapons are fairly over the top. It's just annoying that people constantly harp on this as if it were somehow only Fenris that wields such weapons, or at least that it's somehow only a problem when he does it.

Gah...IMO the elven retcon is second only to the hurlock retcon as the worst 'do-over' in video game history. Seriously, what red-blooded bloke wants to romance someone who looks 12? And yeah, as I recall from the stolen throne, elves are supposed to be extremely attractive and desirable to humans. Perhaps I mis-remember? But these are not remotely attractive IMO.
