For myself, I go to photobucket.com

Take the picture-code with IMG on either side of it

Copy-pasta

I'm all for exploring foreign concepts of beauty and the visual "other", but there are ways to change the elves to make them more halla-like (which is what I think was the aim) without... well, that lovely young flower the OP posted. They look more sickly than anything. Its upsetting, especially as elves are supposedly very attractive to humans in the setting. The redesign could and should have been better thought through, especially after seeing some of these stunning facemorphs.

There's skinny and then there's skeletal.

I don't think those ears work unless it's on an anime character

well look at my character ... he is also elven...

ok they do look comical and they might need some fixing... but then again... why should every elf has to look beautiful... gimme a skeletal / fat elf anytime

i like them even if they look ****ed up it is a totally new spin on what an elf should be... just like a beardless dwarf!

That's a female human with pointing ears.

Elves are much more distinct now, I personally like it better this way.

Even though I agree they look fugly... but I don't like elves so I don't really care.

I really like the new look. Why have a different species if all you change is the ears?

Elves are usually described as slender, not skinny. Either the art team liked the Na´vi way too much or tried the anime style and failed miserably.

I'm sorry, but judging from some of the screenshots the Elf design in Dragon Age 2 is a bit rubbish.

However, I am going to need to see the Elves ingame, before asking for a Elven re-design.

I think they're a bit skinny, yes, but overall I like the way they look. I think the elf in Darktown (Tomwise, I think?) is especially adorable. I wanna keep him as a pet or something.

Anyway, does anyone else think that Fenris and Merrill are especially human-looking? When I saw a video of Sundermount, I was like, "Whoa! Fenris and Merrill don't look like that at all!

DA:O elves were good enough for me.

And yes...Mariil and Fenris really are the most human-looking elves. Probably because Bio realised too late that the elves were fugly.

Dragon Age Origins elves were just humans with slightly more pointy ears. I for one am happy that theres more distinction now.

notice that people who hate the new elves hate it because the females are ugly... Talk about being sexual objects as a race lol

She looks like as if she hasn't eaten on a year and imagines Hawke a pie or something -- her crazy facial expression. That's not skinny, that's skeleton with a thin layer of skin on it. They should have had rounder cheeks, a pointier nose and a shorter neck.

Also, I think she would need a tail to stand upright.

Those screen are horrible :( more than that, its what I've been voicing all along (the watchtower) with other BW games ie ME2. They have an issue making a good looking face for some time. It seems that they toss in a randomized face and be done with it. And there you go, some little monsters like those goblinoids occur.
To the contrary, the concept art, M. Rhodes' for example, drew Merril so good looking that the ones who accepted (and made) the 3D models should be crucified.
For f.uck's sake, how hard is to ask ppl around the studio "what do you think about the face/char/whatever"? Are they all blind or just a circle of mutual adoration?

Artistic choice my ass! Somebody gave ass big time if you ask me.

I just hope that those are separate cases...but that would be a stretch.
