When I access the map screen, there appears to be a small gold envelop next to Gamen's House. What does that mean? And I still can't get my Bonus Gear from registering the game.

Means you have a letter from someone. If you go to Gamen's House on the desk in the main room there is a journal. You should have a letter from someone. Also, if you check the chest in the next room there is all of your bonus stuff.
