Petition - Bioware please hear some of us (on PC)

I'm playing as a rogue and prefer archery, but since the darkspawn is on my party so fast, I have to go back into my inventory screen to switch weapons, which is an annoyance. So many things with this game are WRONG!
Why can't I tell individual party members to hold? Why is all or none?
I'm really frustrated with this game right now and I shouldn't be, as it's Bioware.

I HATE that AOE lock, almost as much as lack of a detachable camera.
Same. It was annoying in Origins, but for some reason it feels worse in DA2. Regardless, I hope there's a way around that.

Someone please add that to the top post too, this really annoyed me especially when I want my melee to be mobile and range to hold position. This is one improvement I wished they'd made to the game from Origin to DA2.

Please. I want my mage and ranged to stay put, but I need the melee fighters to move so they don't just stand there uselessly. Even with the proper tactics set, I can't make them guard a door properly.
Modding support would also be great. I hear it is to be provided later, but the tactics mod on DA:O really changed the game for me by making my party members more intelligent (rogues attack from behind instead of from the front) and enabling minor automatic abilities on the main character (auto-buff in particular).

- Isometric tactical zoom for party based RPGs.
- Pause and play for tactics (since turn based would affect the game for everyone so pause and play is good enough I suppose)
- Very well thought out and strategic spell system
- Extremely challenging bosses that require a lot of thought to defeat.
- Perma death + resurrect spells required like in true D+D / traditional RPG style
- A game around 10x in length than DA2 with an open explorable world with lots of things to do and side quests. Make the main story line completable in 30 hours for casual players like was done in Oblivion, but still have a huge explorable world with lots to do.
No one makes these kind of games anymore, and Bioware were the only company that ever did it so well.

Hi,
this is maybe a bold move or it will give nothing at all, but still I'm trying to provoke something here. If you agree with this post, please keep it alive by replying/agreeing to it.
I've been a huge fan of Dragon Age Origins and the tactical aspect of the game. I loved it. I played Nightmare (except Hard for the first) and the tactical aspect was plain fun. Many will argue that Dragon Age 2 is a step back from Origins, but unfortunately, this is Dragon Age 2 and we have to live with it, love it or not (if you bought it hehe).
So according to what I read on the forum, there are some features that are really missing, and bugs that's making some gamers (on PC) angry.
1- Feature: Please give us back the tactical view (zoomed out camera) or a detachable camera;
2- Feature: Please give us back the 2nd weapon slot;
3- Feature: Please have one queue for actions on all characters (or no broken action on hit);
4- Bug: Please fix the import problem (alond with the decision flags problem)
(Updated 10-03-2011)
5- The toolset!!! <----- Probably the most important item of the list!
Explanations:
1- Explanation not needed;
2- A bummer to always go in the inventory and equip 2 melee weapons or weapong+shield;
3- If I order one character to take a potion or attack this enemy or move somewhere and it gets hit, the action is somewhat cancelled. In Origins, it was delayed, but was still active until it was done. That's REALLY annoying;
4- Explanation not needed;
5- Explanation not needed;
The list could be long and feel free to add comments, but keep in mind that no they can't change the graphic engine at this point, no they can't change the story at this point, no they can't change the combat system at this point, no they can't change the spawning system at this point and for all things mentionned before, no they can't make the game as strategic as Origins, etc. But from reading the posts all over the board, I feel that the above points are really frequent in the complains and are probably not really hard to implement.
Thank you Bioware for hearing us out.
PS: Moderators, please sticky this thread if you feel it is constructive.
[EDIT]
As requested, I changed "Your PC fans" to "Some of us (on PC)". Sorry for that, I didn't expect those replies since the first thing I stated is to reply only if you agree. If you don't well, don't reply. I'm pretty sure that if they implement those changes and you are not part of this thread, it won't affect you in any way.
Actually, I'm playing on PC and I have been able to zoom out and then back in to change my view during a battle....I'm considering this a tactical view.....if I'm wrong about that, sorry. But, I'm not having an issue with this. Correct me if I am on the wrong idea here.

Well, yes you can zoom back, but this isn't considered the tactical camera. In Origins, the last zoom out step was a top view (isometric) with a detached camera. So, you could move around the battlefield by putting the mouse on the edge of the screen and place your party members, AoE spells, etc. This was extremely useful for people who were using it (some didn't use it on PC). Now, in DA2, that last zoom step is gone. I have read (but not see since I don't have the console version of the game) that there is a detachable camera when you are placing your AoE spell, on console only. It's a non-sense to have cut this from PC, especially since we had the iso view in Origins (PC only).

Just started a rogue, the 2nd point is "killing me" from a tactical point of view...same w the lack of indivdual stay/ move vs global

I mean, yes. Totally agree with every one of those points. Toolset especially. There would've been a fraction of the anger directed at the initial outcome of the product if the toolset had a parallel release.

Just started the game and...............well I think I just don't get why the pace of combat is as high as it is.I mean, in a shooter speed is a gamplay factor. In a game like Dragon Age it just ruins cinematics, because it forces you to pause the game at shorter intervals to give orders and keep track of what's going on
really? I have yet to pause during fights, it play much like Mass Effect battles, better AI and a large number of tactics.
pausing a game during fights is so 1990's.
Well............you have a point perhaps. Certainly on "normal" now that I have set some basic tactics I sometimes don't even have to do anything at all to win a battle. I guess I was assuming manual interventions were required. Anyway, on "nightmare" apparently that is the case, and that puts the problem right back on the table.

Combat it's dissapointing that enemies burst out in just blood and that u cannot slowmotion kill an Ogre or even a bandit anymore. Haven't seen it atleast after 3 hours of play.
U cannot cast like damaging abilities out of combat for example, u have to wait till the enemy spotted you and then engage, not like in DA:O with the survival skill u could see em miles away.
I actually restarted Dragon Age: Origins cuz I don't feel the desire to play DA2 non-stop like I had with DA:O.
It's a shame really.

Yeah, I too was thinking about starting a new game in Origins instead of playing DA2. I haven't played Witch Hunt and Golems, so I'm happy to still have "new" content on Origins. But, I'll go ahead and try DA2 to the end to give it a complete try, since I pre-paid for this game hehe. But yep, so far I can easily stop playing DA2, a thing that was not possible for me with Origins, Kotor, NWN, BG, ME and ME2. And I'm pretty intense when I start a game (with the time I have).

Hopefully the Witcher 2.
As for the petition, put my name on it but EA has a long history of not caring about their customers and what they want and have less love and understanding for the RPG genre so I doubt they'll change a thing.
Then again, they've had their bums raked over hot coals for the Secrum, the banned fan and a blatant rip-off in DA 2, so who knows...
Miracles can happen.
