 Good article on the sneaking of secuROM (thanks to phaedrusiszen (social.bioware.com/1575947/) for the link):

I don't think any PC user is glad that iso view is removed and if you are then ...

I never used it. I really don't see why it's so important to you either...

So according to what I read on the forum, there are some features that are really missing, and bugs that's making some gamers (on PC) angry.

1- Feature: Please give us back the tactical view (zoomed out camera) or a detachable camera;

I never had that much problem with this, as I never used it in DA:O.  BUT I will say for DA2, it is kind of a necessity because the battles to me seem much more frantic.

3- Feature: Please have one queue for actions on all characters (or no broken action on hit);

I do miss this from DA:O.  I agree on this.

4- Bug: Please fix the import problem (alond with the decision flags problem)

(Updated 10-03-2011)

I don't know if I had a problem with this as it supposedly loaded my saved game fine.  And some of the quests I have found brought up the decisions I made.  But this needs to be addres if it is broken.

Agree with OP, sadly this will all fall on deaf ears. As mentioned above, stripped away companion equipment options is a mindboggling step back. Despite it all, still an enjoyable game, just not what was hoped for. This will be my last pre-order.

 Hi,

this is maybe a bold move or it will give nothing at all, but still I'm trying to provoke something here. If you agree with this post, please keep it alive by replying/agreeing to it.

I've been a huge fan of Dragon Age Origins and the tactical aspect of the game. I loved it. I played Nightmare (except Hard for the first) and the tactical aspect was plain fun. Many will argue that Dragon Age 2 is a step back from Origins, but unfortunately, this is Dragon Age 2 and we have to live with it, love it or not (if you bought it hehe).

So according to what I read on the forum, there are some features that are really missing, and bugs that's making some gamers (on PC) angry.

1- Feature: Please give us back the tactical view (zoomed out camera) or a detachable camera;
2- Feature: Please give us back the 2nd weapon slot;
3- Feature: Please have one queue for actions on all characters (or no broken action on hit);
4- Bug: Please fix the import problem (alond with the decision flags problem)

(Updated 10-03-2011)
5- The toolset!!!  <----- Probably the most important item of the list!
(Updated 11-03-2011)
6- Feature: The ability to tell party members, individualy, to hold position instead of a global setting;
7- Get rid of secuROM, as advertized prior to release;

Explanations:
1- Explanation not needed;
2- A bummer to always go in the inventory and equip 2 melee weapons or weapong+shield;
3- If I order one character to take a potion or attack this enemy or move somewhere and it gets hit, the action is somewhat cancelled. In Origins, it was delayed, but was still active until it was done. That's REALLY annoying;
4- Explanation not needed;
5- Explanation not needed;
6- Explanation by TongueDar + Naitaka: let the melee guys be mobile and order the range guys to stay put. Better tactical experience.
7- Explanation not needed;

The list could be long and feel free to add comments, but keep in mind that no they can't change the graphic engine at this point, no they can't change the story at this point, no they can't change the combat system at this point, no they can't change the spawning system at this point and for all things mentionned before, no they can't make the game as strategic as Origins, etc. But from reading the posts all over the board, I feel that the above points are really frequent in the complains and are probably not really hard to implement.

Thank you Bioware for hearing us out.

PS: Moderators, please sticky this thread if you feel it is constructive.

[EDIT]
As requested, I changed "Your PC fans" to "Some of us (on PC)". Sorry for that, I didn't expect those replies since the first thing I stated is to reply only if you agree. If you don't well, don't reply. I'm pretty sure that if they implement those changes and you are not part of this thread, it won't affect you in any way.

seems like a very, very simple list of tweaks

From what I've read, it doesn't import most of your Awakenings decisions beyond sparing the Architect. Like, it doesn't register whether the Warden in Amaranthine was Orlesian or not, DA2 always assumes it was the Hero of Ferelden (by extension - that the Hero of Ferelden sacrificed him/herself to kill the Archdemon is also ALWAYS omitted, the Hero lives!). Anders always talks about Ser Pounce-a-Lot even if you didn't gift him with the kitten. It's sort of like the Conrad Verner dilemma of Mass Effect 2 (he was one of the most prominent, but by far not the only incorrectly imported decision) - most people will not notice, but those that do will be iffed.

Might want to take "petition" our of the title because they'll just lock the thread and say that "Bioware doesn't accept petitions." I've seen it before. Just warning. Stanley Woo's been on a locking spree.

Thanks for the warning. I saw a post where Stanley wrote a list of thread he was keeping active because they were constructive, this one was is in. So I guess as long as it is constructive (and I hope), it will be kept alive.

Seriously, the more I play, the more the camera thing bugs me. When fighting in confined areas, the camera handling frustrates me.

Don't beg the rip off artists to hear you...just make sure they do, and I'm betting they have. The deaf could hear the noise that's being made over the DA 2 travesty.

Yeah, I received private messages on things to add, but my main reason to start this thread was for PC. I could extend it and make it console too, but that would add a lot of things in the list. But yeah, that could be a good idea. I'll think about it.

not sure what you mean here. Because there is no tactical view in DA2. Tactical view was just a high or zoomed out view, a view from the ceiling with the possiblity to move (to a certain extent) the camera north, south, east and west by moving the mouse to the edges of the screen.

If you are stuck with a top view in DA2, hold the right mouse button and move your mouse.

Thanks for the bumping :)

On another subject... GREAT! Looks like mods are coming out. This one is a tweak for the Nightmare difficulty that makes Nightmare more reasonable, or playing Hard a little harder with FF. Again, I LOVE you modders.

I will try it tonight.

Agreed, best part is this would only take a small patch to fix, and for everyone saying to just use mods I don't, I have had one to many mods break a game for me.

All items described are useful, should be implemented, were part of DAO and do not pose any problems to players who do not want to use them. So obviously, I am 100% with you here.

100% agree with everything in the OP post! I would also like to add in the ability to remove autolocking for targeting. I want to play on nightmare, but the damn autolock is somewhat prohibitive when ff is on. However, I suspect this issue would be corrected if the camera were able to move around like DAO.

Great post!

It saddened me a lot when i discovered Dragon Age 2 had gone down the road of the console. Wish i hadn't pre-ordered my pc copy of the game. Should have got an xbox version instead. :(

Now I pretty much follow agree. DA2 is completely Dumbed down. Its shocking. I felt like I was seeing another C&C 4. To me they have killed Dragon Age with this. Unless they return to the DAO ways.

Good points. I can certainly second that, ESPECIALLY the camera.

Personally I would also love to have combat be a little less ridiculous. Platemail and (especially 2h) weapons are NOT weightless. Please stop zipping around like they made you faster instead of slower... Also, someone hit by a claymore does NOT explode into 20 gallons of blood and dozens of bits of gore.

You should have seen that coming. ;) Even if the game caused horrible mutations some people would be like "Dude, don't complain about that, I love my second head! finally I got someone to talk to!".
