So, should I import my last saved game from Dragon Age: Origins or Awakenings into Dragon Age II?
Or does it matter?

I did, but since we're not playing the same character, so far i dont see the point of it.

I was wondering about this. I imported a game. For some reason I thought this game was gonna be a back story leading up to Origins, but I guess I was wrong.
Are the Templars powerful no matter what in teh beginning or does the decisions in Origins change that?

Origins save for me. I didn't play the character through Awakenings, but there were decision made from Awakenings that have been mentioned in DA 2. So it's kinda wierd.

Import the Awakenings save, it has all your Origins decisions anyway.
EDIT: Your Origins save, on the other hand, will not have your Awakenings decisions for obvious reasons.

Origins>Awakening>Golems>Witch Hunt
If your Importing you want the save thats at the end of Witch Hunt DLC. That one is designed to be imported into DA2 and has all your deicions and plot relevants in it.
DA2 takes place after all the events of dragon age.
