When my archer gets up close, it automatically draws some blades. What blades does it draw ? I cant seem to find anyway to change them etc ? Can I change them ? So that it is in theory possible to make a character than can do both melee and ranged without having to switch weapons manually inbetween.

Good question. My next roll is going to be an archer. The demo made me curious.

It is just a default dagger. It's damage is based off of your bow and will output the same DPS. Since it hits faster, the base attack damage is slightly lower than the bow you have equipped.

Can it be used in conjuction with melee talents ? :P
Or perhaps that would suck ?

To use any of the Dual Weapon melee talents you have to have a set of daggers equipped. Honestly, just pick on weapon tree and stick with that. For Archery use Evade, stun with Miasmic Flask, slow with Pinning Shot, or simply kite to put some ground between yourself and the enemy.

I was mostly thinking it would be awesome, not necessarily the most practical / most effective way to play. But thanks for the info !

So no effective way to play as a DW rogue who likes to shoot a few arrows now and then? Really disappointed they removed the quick swap for weapon sets.

I get why they've made these changes, but I don't like having my options limited. Just let me play the way I want to play dammit!

Same here. I have always liked playing a D&D ranger who is just as deadly at both archery and melee. Really disappointed with this.
