Booooo. All the sex scenes are QUICK and clothed vs extended and underware when compared to DAO. There are ZIP sexual screnes in the brothel... just a  quick cut to black

Although these scenes are the most paramount to my enjoyment of the game. I wish BW had left them as they did in DAO

And if an NPC "moves in with you", to your mansion. *They should MOVE IN with you* and be based out of your house, not where they used to live.

Also it would be been cool to have Varric as a LI, but I guess that make sense because he's the storyteller, but he could have been more like Isabella, where you could shagg him, but not love him.

Mm, then I was misguided by someone who said it as a "spoiler". My sincere apologies. I haven't played a female character yet.

He is the only tride and true hetro LI.. and a female CAN have a relationship with him.. but since he is part of the Chantry, it must be a "chaste" (sexless) relationship.

I'd like to find out whether Anders's romance is too cheesy, because right now I don't know where I stand with him. DX

I've got him at 100% friendly so yeah...

Overall though, the new system isn't bad at all.

Edit: Please, everyone. Feel free to comment about your very own experience with the love interests.

Hi,

First things first. Thank you BioWare for giving us so much opportunities with the love interests. It's fun to see how fluid the story can be for everyone and how the situations can vary upon the playthroughs.

There's only one thing that annoys the hell of out me. It's Sebastian. Why does he have to be the only one straight male character that I actually planned to date with my Male Hawke?

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would prefer having him over Anders and Fenris. Just my opinion.

Also, am I the only one who found the Anders' romance a bit too cheesy?

Friendly,
Teddie

Update: My sincere apology, someone from the web "sploit" me that Sebastian was romancable with the female Hawke.

Yes he's straight.. and there's a catch (secret) to romancing him.. probably why the forum mod said he wasn't romancable.

If you want him, you must NEVER, ever, ever, ever, ever click the heart/flirt button with ANY other character in the game, but him

I took him as my mate in a m/m relationship about an hr ago. The dialog between Merril, him is quite funny once he moves in with you (provided you haven't pissed M off)

i dont know about that

The "sex with ur underwear on"  was really akward

Is there a certain point where it happens? I;m trying to figure things out, and unfortuantely Bioware didn't include a 'shut up and take your pants off, Anders' option to my dialogue. -_-

Is it just me or it's very hard to flirt Fenris. It seems no matter what my female warrior does, he gets rivalry points instead of friendship points. All that because I protect my mage companions.

Act 2, you must do your mansion quest... then do the blackpowder quest.. then his "dissent" along with other LIs quests will pop up.. when you do his quest make SURE you choose the "star" icon when he's threatening to kill a girl. After that go visit with him, flirt with him.. then he will tell u he will me u at your house. Go to your house AT NIGHT.. and he will come.. after that he's REALLY easy to bed and "wed" :)

When I romanced Merrill as a rival and asked her to move in with me, her outfit completely changed. Instead of the green, she's wearing this beautiful white elven armor. Do all of the companions change their clothes when that happens?

Edit: Here is Merrill's new armor.

Fenris and Sebastion are very hard to raise, especially if you are "mage friendly" (meaning keep him away from quests that support mages)

I'm on the latter part of Act 2.. basically.. the game seems to have two sides (I've avoided end game spoilers): The side of the mages vs templars (and it may go deeper than that)... then there's also lawfullness vs chaotic (or lawful thing vs theivery)...

Varric = pretty easy to please unless your an ass. He actually responds well to humorus conversational replies.

Avaeline
= lawful, but does seem to care either way about the mage vs templar. Just don't do anything "underhanded with her in your pary"

Sebastion = VERY LAWFUL.. but *very* odd that BW set him as a "rogue"... but I think they did that because it's the only way to make him an archer. He also favors the anti-mage stance. He is the only heterosexual LI, and even then there is a sceret to romancing him: you must never use the flirt icon with any other character AT ALL during that playthrough (at least that what the game guidebook says). So you must be: female, loyal to him only, and be willing to have a NON sexual relationship (he's a member of the clery after all heheh)

Anders = fanatic mage friendly (don't bring him along on ANY anti mage missions if u want him to like u), and doesn't seem to mind most "underhanded" business unless you are not cruel. He gets VERY pissed off about anything to do with blood mages. Him and Merrill do party well, but do NOT do any of Merrills quests with him in your party - unless your friendship with him is maxxed out (locked)

Merrill = mage friendly, and doesn't mind most underhanded stuff unless you're cruel

Isabella = both mage/templar stance friendly.. doesn't mind underhanded stuff... this even extends to outright murder.. but I have seen her disapprove when it comes to blood magic stuff.

Fenris  = VERY anti mage. You can be a mage and support the mage's cause. Just keep him out of "mage based quests" that favor the mages until u "lock" his friendship)

(the only blood magic friendly (or don't care) party members are: Varric, Merrill, possibly with Isabella as a 4th)

LASTLY: once you max out friendship it LOCKS. Then you can do pretty much whatever you want :)

I have the official play guide, although it was written when the game was beta, it's mostly accurate. So the above char descriptions are a mix of the book and what I understood from actual game play

Edit: Corrected spelling errors and errors from my iPads auto correct :)
Edit: Corrected Fenris' details.

Is DA2 Like DAO in that you can only have one romance at a time? Right now I'm at the beginning of Act 2 (Year 3, I'm assuming that's act 2) and I'm juggling 2 of them, and nothing seems to be happening with either.

I'm also having trouble with Fenris. I get friendly points, then rival. Friendly, then rival. So he stays in the middle and I can't push him over to either. I know I'm still somewhat early in the game, but I'm getting frustrated with the friend/rival thing, because I feel like, other than Anders, I can't get any of them to move definitively one way or another. (And did I just make this up, or didn't the devs tell us at one point that our companions weren't going to judge us on our decisions? That it was going to be about what we said to them? Because my companions are judgy judgy judgy.)

That's not true. People seem to confuse playing as a mage and supporting the mages. I played as a mage and ended the game with full friendship because I supported the templars in everything. Fenris doesn't particularly care whether you're a a mage or not. It's the side you choose that matters to him.

No, you can romance as many people as you like, but eventually someone will ask you to be loyal to JUST them. So far the only character I've seen that you can sleep with and NOT offend if you dont want a relationship is Isabella. Someone, please correct me if I am mistaken about her being the only one you can do that with.

However, I DID see the LIE option to deny a romance with another LI. So you might be able to get away with multiple LIs as long as u aren't caught. I haven't tried this yet, and won't, till my 2nd playtrough.

Correct. Being a mage will mean you'll start off with some rivalry, but after that point it's about where you stand.

As for other comments, the thing to remember is that you don't need friendship in order to have a romance. You do, however, need to be either friendship or rivalry-- and the romance will progress in Act 2 and 3 based on whether you've reached the half-way point or the end of the meter. That's what prompts later conversations. If you're waffling about in the middle, then the relationship will never develop fully (beyond, potentially, the initial fling).

I forgot one thing... there is no real "quest" to get anders to show up at your house.  after I did his personal quest. I had to just "go talk to him" at his clinic to initiate further romance .. he had no icon or anything over his head

wow. I didn't know you could romance a "rival".. it sort of doesn't make sense why someone would want to love(or have sex) you that doesn't like you :)

Well... hatesex is a popular topic. And just because you're rivals doesn't mean you can't be attracted to a person. Rivalry can be, in some levels, friendly.

I'd like to know how many scenes there actually are. I remember seeing a screenshot of the Fenris romance and that was nowhere to be found in the actual game. Was the scene in Act 2 after his companion quest supposed to be the 'sex scene'? It went really fast and at the time I didn't think it was the only intimate scene but I didn't run into anything else. Maybe it's different with rivalry?

I've only been through the game once (36+ hours straight!) but I adored the Anders romance. There perhaps aren't word for how much I enjoyed it. I didn't think it was too much at all; of course, that's just my opinion, but I really loved his whole "I'm dangerous, I can't be with you" thing. Very Buffy/Angel, and, to me, very appealing.

Which made the ending much more poignant and messed up.

I can hardly wait to rivalry-romance Fenris. Great job, Bioware. I'm impressed all over again.

For Anders, when you talk to him at the clinic after doing his quest, what are the right option to take in order to start a relationship? I made him say that he can't get involved because of justice :(

Which act are you in? Playing female or male Hawke?

I play female Hawke skip the first flirt in Act 1 after finish his quest(I like man with dark past), and choose the second flirt following it(forgot exact word), resulting him... paraphrase-"No,I can't because I will hurt you."

Which gets me very bored and flirt with Fenris instead, it was fun at first because of his awkward reaction to it but I get tired with Fenris' voice after a few dialog exchange, so I give up...

I am in act 1 and he told me that he doesn't want to hurt me, I really want to be able to romance him if anyone can tell me how to get into a relationship with him

Don't give up just because he's a teensy bit reluctant at first. ;)

Haha was hoping that was the case, thank you

Don't you think he was like out of character or something? I feel like he's so different of his younger version in Amaranthine. Maybe it's because if Justice or the fact he's so into cats, but the way he acts reminds me of a big feline.

I'm calling it right now: Anders is actually Ser Pounce-a-Lot in human form. :D

Kinda Strange thing happoned with Isabela, in the begining the 2nd act she showed up in my home and we had a night of beding, after that she gave me an item called "threads of the burning sea" or something like that, but I cant find it anywhere in invintory, or the Journal. this a bug or was I mistaken?
