Just finished on xbox 360, and the ending is absolutely horrific. They might as well of put "AHA YOU BUY OUR GAME NOW BUY DLC BUY NOW!" Rest of the game is alright, though, just don't play it as a sequel to origins. Play it as a spin off.
and i shall buy the dlcs thats what the game lives on dlcs not profit after they made they need soemthing to keep us on the hook a little longer till m3 comes out

Which is disappointing. DA:O had DLC after the ending, but they still allowed it to be concluded for those who bought the game on it's own.
Sadly this is becoming all too common in games as of late. Alan Wake for example not only finishes on a cliff hanger, but has two DLC's to continue the story that also both end on a cliff hanger, to leave room for a third and final DLC that will finish the story.
I will not jump on the DA2 hate bandwagon, but please Bioware, make DLC feel optional rather than obligatory.

The game is 1/3 as long as DA:O.
And has no real ending.
You want the ending? Enjoy vomiting up for DLC.

So
long as you keep buying it, they will continue to leave key features
out of games and make you pay extra for it. You want to stop the trend? Stop buying DLC.

Do companions ever get new outfits , or do their outfits stay the same for the entire game.

That is understandable since main quests are there for a sense of purpose.
I am wondering about the side-quests that really matter. In these type of games, I think side-quests matter more than main quests.
And I expect an expansion like Awakening aswell since style of the DA2 looks like it will depend on DLC's (similar to ME2 Dlc.) Lets hope those will be as good as Lair of the shadow Broker.

Bingo...
The reason why I don't hate on first-day DLC is that it's pretty much optional. But, making DLCs that basically demands you buy it to fully understand or develop the MAIN story from the MAIN game is dumb.

They change when you complete their personal quest. Not very significant change, but a change nonetheless. I just want to say that Aveline's personal quest is amazing. Best part of DA2.

Although I am taking everything I hear with a pinch of salt at the moment (UK player, it isn't out yet here). This is the one thing I am thinking is undeniable as everyone is saying that the ending is left open for DLC.

This. I totally agree. I want a full experience no matter what the game. Not to end on something where the first thing that comes through your mind is, "Well. I guess this will be finished in DLC...". I'll have to get to the end to see what's what.

How much time did you spend doing sidequests? Did you enjoy the story and journey to the end?
Hopefully my copy arrives tomorrow.

To be fair, Origins did end on a cliffhanger too with Morrigan disappearing...which of course became DLC. So perhaps DA 2 will also do the same.

Mmm ME2 had a dire (imo) end too, but the journey there was fun, and its the 2nd game in a series, i'd expect a cliffhanger of sorts as it is about finding out about the champion and what happens to nearly put the world at war.

Completed all companion's personal quests, but only a few side quests.
