Is it my imagination or is it actually slower and more problematic to switch between the two options?
I'm a rogue class and want the option to quickly switch weapons but the radial menu doesnt have the icon anymore.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

No, you're not, but the game is.

yeah, it takes for ever to switch. so DA2 is the best thing to play right now, but it feels more like God of War... hack/n/slash

I cant believe they left that out.
The lead designer Mike Laidlaw said rogues would get the biggest makeover and some ways thats true but what a huge step backwards. So much for feeling like youre Legolas from LotR...

I was searching for this last night. There is no "weapon set 2" and a key to swap between the 2 sets? We need to go into the inventory and manually switch weapons?

Looks that way.
Unbelievable.

If memory serves there was an issue with the weapon switching animations.
That's why you have to switch them on the inventory screen.

I hope they patch this in, because it really does take a lot of the fun out of being a rogue.

It's funny that the Facebook tie-in has a quickswap, but the DA2 itself doesn't. I'm not particularly bothered by it, seeing as how it's only relevant for Hawke to begin with and there's not much real value in splitting your focus between two types, especially with Maker's Tears.

What animations?! In DA:O it was just magic. POOF and you switched. I'd take that right now.

It is unbelievable to me that they left this out. That is a deal-breaker for me. Whoever decided to leave that out should be fired.

Fired is too kind! They should be subjected to death by defication!
Ewwww, I can't believe I said that during diner! Gross!

Really angry about this. A lot of what I enjoyed in DA:O has been removed!

One of my favorite things to do in origins was if my main character, (a rogue) would gain aggro using melee mainly by just putting out the most damage per-second,...was to hit stealth, switch weapons and take a few steps back and get the enemy with a nice big archery critical hit, (i would sometimes catch myself making a verbal exclamation the moment the arrow hit and even more so whenever it would get a critical hit! lol!) but now that i have to pause, hit the inventory hotkey, hold down left-click to pick up the bow, drop it into the weapon slot, then when i see it didnt equip i smack myself on the forehead for trying to equip a bow in my characters "offhand" -slot...and then i by the time i put it into the right slot and exit out of inventory and click on either an archery ability or just click to initiate a regular attack then i unpause and continue the fight...i look back and realise it just took me close to 20 or more seconds to switch weapons, and if you dont pause a fight against normal-ranked opponen

That mistake took too much fun out of playing rogue, so I switched to mage.

The Arishok is currently driving me -insane- because of the no easy switching. He only has a few seconds of vulnerability and not being able to switch back and forth and have the game know what weapons I want...argh. >< Rogue was my favorite class to play, and now I feel like rogues just kinda...suck. Not the Companion rogues. They're amazing in fights. It's just Hawke who apparently skipped all the "cool" lessons for rogues.

Gah. I guess I'll switch from my rogue to something else too. Rogues feel unplayable without the ability to quick switch between bows and dual wield.

I have to agree this is a HUGE downer.
The mix between melee/range is one of the most special things about the rogue class.
Cliche or not, the Legolas style is fun.

I doubt the quick switch will be added back as only rogues have 2 choices (OK a warrior might have 2H & 1H, but really?).

Yeah, it sucks that when enemies get in my archer's face, he pulls out some crappy generic daggers. :\\

this is very annoying, since there are so many points where it makes sense to fire with your bow before closing the distance.. how is it possible to forget a feature as simple as this when it was in the original game?

Bows were OP in
imo. It was so broken on my Awakening playthrough that I respec'd into DW so the game would seem more fair.
I never skilled both weapon skills, but a few times I would use a bow from stealth or a kite situation. It only because a must on Nightmare though.
In DA2 I played through as a DW Rogue only using a bow twice. I respec'd to a Duelist/Assassin Bow versus the Arishok (LOL 250+ crits after throw gauntlet) and to poke the high dragon when melee just didn't cut it. I was throughly shocked at no quick switch. Would be at least nice to fire a shot or 2, but closing distance is /easy/ with those monkey jumps

I don't mind this, to me the no switch button is a good thing. It makes it a bit more tricky and you need to think more. I also find that it is better to just stick with one specialization like bows or just duals.
That's my opinion.
