If you respec your character from the black emporium potion sometimes your character when left to his/her own devices will cast old spells he used to have but no longer has access to.

My mage is now full entropy/blood mage (I wouldn't recommend either btw) and was casting tempest on groups of enemies.

Edit: Hmm it says I have petrify and tempest but nothing else from the tree. Kinda confused now.

I think you can do this without the Black Emporium.

When spending specialization points, buy a new power without clicking "confirm". Drag it into your quick bar. Click "cancel". There. Up to 10 free powers. >:-)
