I got the SE last night and didnt have time to install it until today.

Game installed perfectly fine,
release date check progress bar went to 100% and the screen disappeared (assumed its ok, like flash or Java install, where the screen disapears immidiatly following a sucsessful install. )

Clicking on the launcher, the Launch splash screen will come up, changing config to match the recommendations on here to use DX9, then clicking play and nothing.

Windows 7 has a gadget that monitors CPU performance, and no notable increase in CPU load. Disc drive spins for about 4 seconds and then dies off.

System:
AMD Phenom X6 -- OC to 5.5ghz
Win 7 Prof 64bit
8GB ram
2 x ATI HD 5770 in crossfire.

*Note: played demo not problem

**Changing compatability to Windows XP SP 2 or 3 and then clicking play turns the screen black for 5.67 seconds, and then returns to the desktop. During this time, the disc does not spin, and there is no notable load on the CPU or GPUs


Any help or ideas?

Just installed Exiled prince, and Black europium, no problems.

Still no initial game launch

Running directly of dragon age 2 application in install directoy/bin_ship

in compatbility windows xp service pack 2 or 3. The screen turns black then gives "dragon age 2 has stopped working....."

So in accordance with the OP, the game now does try and start up.

Any ideas people?
