I own both platforms and feel I shouldn't have to pay twice. What I do is play on my desktop when I'm home then when I'm out I use the same save to play on my MacBook. Using Dropbox, I can keep my save game synced between both platforms.

You have to pay twice. Just like people with Xbox, PS3, and PC have to pay 3 times. As far as I know there is no "guest" code for installation on a different system.

You can try to use your old registration code on a Mac install. It might work, but you have to find a dvd though.
