Alistair was the only one that really bothered me.

As has been mentioned, the Elves, Dwarves, and Qunari all recieved an art change. Therefore, it made sense for Zevran to look different, and if we had seen others (Oghren, Sten, etc), I would have been fine with their change to the new style.

But the humans look the same. Nathaniel and Liliana still look perfect. Why did Alistair's face shrink, chin become less chiseled, and all around look like a different person. What happened there? Can't wait for the mod that fixes it...

Alistair was the only one to make my eyes cross, I thought Leliana looked fantastic and accepted Zevran looked freaky because they made the elves in general look freaky. Cullen looked good too!

Poor Alistair. It was nice to see him anyway.

I guess all that cheese was catching up to him.

Maybe it's the water in Denerim. Teagan looked like he got slapped in the face with a parasite-laden trout and then was healed by a blind blood mage.

Oh yeah, Cullen looked good too. It was just Alistair and Teagan that got hit with the ugly stick.

I didnt even recognize Teagan...

Teagan didn't look too bad (certainly not great though). Or maybe I was too busy gaping at the horror that is Alistair's mug to notice it.

But Cullen puts them all to shame. Seeing him come out relatively unscathed just makes no excuse for everyone else.

I thought Teagan was a glitched Senaschal Bran until Alistair introduced them. I was... a little taken back.

I didn't think Teagan was that bad, but I admit I may have been too stricken by Alistair's sheer fail of a face.

I won't come across Leliana or Zevran in my first run through this game(I'm not done yet).

I carried over my first playthrough of DAO which is why.

Lilly died back in Lothering on my first playthrough of DAO and Zevran betrayed me.

So Alistair's all I've got. And its not a good change of appearance.

I don't mean to troll, but I'm kind of okay with the changes. It still looks clearly like alistair. The updates are no more egregious than any other sequel (compare cortana throughout the Halo series) DA:O's graphics were a bit subpar for an xbox 360 title (totally forgivable, given the immense size of the game). The Hawke Chronicles may have its foibles in storytelling, scope, and in some opinions (not mine, however), gameplay. But I truly think the graphics are a substantial improvement. Yes, the art is different, and recurring characters thusly look different, but they're clearly recognizable. I think Zevran is the most noticeably different (but they made elves more... elven looking with big eyes and super pointed chins) I was however, unfortunately reminded of how much better the old characters were, just by their short cameos. I love Alistair's self-effacement, and Zevran's latin suave (with a large dose of homosexuality). Leliana only showed up for a brief moment, and was pretty dull. But I never liked here anyway.

I will never say the graphics are an improvement, at least not regarding characters.

And the comparison picture of Alistair in DAO and in DA2 is enough to solidify my opinion.

In general I prefer the new art style its much more befitting the series as a whole. I still like the easter egg with alistair and isabella.
A to I: " you look different than i remember"
Isabella: "dont we all?"

I'm not saying that your point is invalid.  I just prefer the new art style.

I however, can find some agreement with you in that the characters look a little "off."  I feel that they should have aged a bit, seeing as they pop up 10 years later.  I'm not ENTIRELY sure that the main characters in The Hawke Chronicles age, I thought I saw some wrinkles on Isabella's face near the end of the act, and (male default) Hawke does seem a little more ragged than at the game's beginning.

Either way, I don't find the somewhat minor differences in appearance particularly detrimental to my game experience.  BW did that in other ways :P

Yea' Bann Teagan threw me off at first...Drunk Alistair made sense for him to look like hell, and he did look like he put on some weight, but thats what I wanted to see.

I'm curious as to what they have planned as he returns to Ferelden...thats what makes me more curious

People age; they gain or lose weight and develop wrinkles. Alistair having a rounder face after eight or so years on the throne is par for the course. Just how different does Teagan look compared to his Origins appearance, though?

Teagan looks like someone broke his nose a few times since Origins, for one thing.  The poor Bann-Hammer... his fangirls will not be pleased.

I too was disappointed by Alistair's appearance.  I can justify it as just aging and softer living, but DAMN, bro!  It's especially jarring when Cullen got quite sexy compared to his Origins model.  Quite sexy indeed.

I'm not  impressed with Alistairs look in DA2.  I'm hoping someone mods him to look like he did in DAO.

In the long shots, Alistair doesn't appear to be heavy, so why would his cheeks be that round? Why are his eyes smaller? And where did his Theirin nose go?

Plus, most people's appearance doesn't change much between early to mid-20s and early to mid-30s. I could understand him looking a little softer and developing a few more wrinkles, but that's just...not Alistair. Maybe the Grey Wardens replaced him with a doppelgänger when he went to Weisshaupt Fortress.

So, in summary: Bad Bioware! No cookie!

 What gives?

Alistair looks NOTHING like he did in DAO, and it seems that other than the main characters(which look great) all other characters that aren't significant look terrible.

What is going on? I'm afraid to see what they've done to other characters from DAO.

Thoughts? Reassurances? Give me something.

Well... It has been 8 years since the Blight... I imagine he would change some..

What are you talking about? The others don't look that great at all. Zevran is ugly as all hell.

The only good looking character from DAO/Awakening that I have seen is Leli and Anders. Have not seen Nate so can't say anything.
