The only good looking character from DAO/Awakening that I have seen is Leli and Anders. Have not seen Nate so can't say anything.

Anders looks good.

Leliana, I have to wait for another playthrough where she's actually alive.

Nathaniel I can say looks fine, at least to me. He could've been better, but he's not BAD, not like Alistair.

It must have been a joke. Right? Right? I totally agree that Cullen looks sexier. And he's not so filled with hate anymore!

I didn't think Teagan was that bad, but I admit I may have been too stricken by Alistair's sheer fail of a face.

I won't come across Leliana or Zevran in my first run through this game(I'm not done yet).

I carried over my first playthrough of DAO which is why.

Lilly died back in Lothering on my first playthrough of DAO and Zevran betrayed me.

So Alistair's all I've got. And its not a good change of appearance.

She was dead in my import as well, but she still showed up and said she travelled with the warden, so you have that to look forward to probably :P

If Alistair isn't king, does Anora show up instead?

Does Leliana show up at any point besides the ending where she speaks to Cassandra?

Yes. Spoiler ahead.

She goes under a code name as a representative of The Divine to warn Hawke that there are apostate mages out to kill The Grand Cleric Elthina.

She suggests that Elthina take some things from the Chantry and move to safety elsewhere, although Elthina ends up refusing once Hawke tells her such.

She dies off-screen in DAO, correct?

So you don't actually know that she stayed behind until the Darkspawn arrived.  She might have left Lothering right after the Hero did.  If she mentions that she "traveled" with the Hero, then she might be 'Varricing' her story slightly...

:P

"I traveled with the Hero of Fereldan!"

"Traveled with?"

"I fought alongside him!"

"Really..."

"Okay...  okay...  it was just one time...  in an inn...  against a bunch of soldiers, right before he ran off..."

"But the Hero didn't enter that inn."

"Oh, right.  Well, I looked out the window as the Hero ran past!"

"..."

I recognized her pretty much right off.  Her hair seems a touch thinner, but aside from that she's a pretty good duplicate of what she looked like in DAO.  I was a bit disappointed when she indicated that she was no longer associated with the Hero, since my playthrough had a Leliana romance.

Leliana could've looked a little better, but she wasn't that bad, actually.

Alistair is still the most terrible(I haven't met Zevran yet)

You must have The Exiled Prince DLC. Its one of Sebastian's later quests.

Spoilers inbound.

Sebastian is trying to get Elthina to leave in fear that she will die amidst the Templar/Mage fiasco.

Leliana goes under the name, "Sister Nightingale" because it turns out there are people out to kill HER because she's trying to help.

Leliana speaks to Hawke and Sebastian, telling the two to get Elthina to safety. She leaves, and then Hawke has to try to convince Elthina to leave. Only to fail.

Heh, I liked how washed out and droopy drunk!Alistair looked. It's funny how I didn't hate him that much in DAO but now seeing him muttering in the Hanged man makes me laugh an evil laugh ^_^

Malja, it's been 10 years (or whatever large number). I imagine the taint, the excessess of the court and the shenanigans of Anora (or Eamon, or f!Cousland) aged him prematurely. Let's not forget that Ferelden is on the brink of civil war at that time most likely (or at least it's all going to that).

Aging (nor the taint) doesn't work like that. He doesn't look weathered, he looks deformed compared to his original.

I was disappointed when I saw him. I understand a change in art style, but somehow this feels like too much of a change. It just isn't Alistair. :/ Sorry, devs. I appreciate the effort all the same.

If BioWare decides to release a toolset for DA2 along with the resources (pretty please? <3) I'll definitely try to tweak him to look more like the DA:O counterpart, if it can be done.

What does non drunk / non-king alistair look like? I've heard he's a grey warden that may show up in the deep roads.

I doubt, it's part of a special art style. Cullen looks just fine (lyrium-sniffing chantry puppet). As do Nathaniel (Grey Warden) and Anders (Grey Warden again).

Yeah just saw Alistair and had a huge WTF. And I too did not recognize Bann Teagan ... I thought it was Seneschal Bran. /facepalm
DA2 Alistair vaguely resembled DAO Alistair but as someone said .. the eyes are smaller, the nose is different, the mouth seems smaller and kind of pinched. I couldn't look at him for more than a few seconds.

Looks fine to me,  just a wrung-out king.  Try looking that good failing at being king, you should try!  Definitely has that king-bulk to him (read: tongue in cheek).  The years haven't been kind, but he's the most aged of all the characters, I reckon...

If Alistair isn't king, does Anora show up instead?

In my play through, my Cousland married Anora, and she didn't show up anywhere in DA2, so I obviously didn't get the Alistair as king cameo, where he talks about the tensions with Orlais and the hero of Ferelden returning, which is kinda disappointing. Unless I missed something, which is entirely possible, but I felt that I was pretty thorough.

What does non drunk / non-king alistair look like? I've heard he's a grey warden that may show up in the deep roads.

I had Alistair kill Loghaine at the end of origins, so he obviously remained a Warden. For me, he didn't show up in the deep roads, he actually was fighting his way through the Quinari at the end of Act 2, and I was like, "Dude, we could use your help!" and he was like "Can't, important business!" and I was like "Really? More important than this?" and he was like "You wouldn't think so, but yes...." so that was interesting.

As for how he looked, he looks the same as King Alistair, same armor and such.
