Alright well first off I don't want any spoilers because I just started, anyways.......

I just got Varric and now what like do I have to go quest to quest and all of those things right away, like there's that Flemeth quest still, or can I go explore Kirkwall outside of Hightown........because this whole "ten years" thing is really messin me up I don't wnna skip over stuff cuz I don't know how "time works" in Dragon Age 2.  Like does it run real time or how does in game time work over the days, weeks, months, and years.

Any pointers, should I do the quests or randomly explore ??

I would tell you to read the read me file. It lists a few bugs you should be aware of, lest you get glitches. Like for example, when helping Isabela in her meeting quest, "Fools Rush In" if you loot the corpses before the cutscene where Isabela tells you to check the bodies, the required quest item will not be there and you end up stuck and must revert to a previous save.

As for not wanting to miss any quests, just explore and do quests, but check your Journal and ignore any "Main Plot" quests if you have others available.

Alright so that has to do with quests, thanks for letting me know about that, but how does time work in Kirkwall like I don't wanna screw around I want to do what I need to do quests wise while still being able to free roam.
