Team Varric and Aveline!! I really like Fenris too, but Isabela is my least favourite by far.

Merril grew on me to the point I romanced her with my Mage Hawke...which I had no plans of doing so at all leading up to the game.

Aveline I was on the fence about, and has easily become my 2nd favorite companion

Fenris/Anders...They grew on me the wrong way Anders character change is not something i've been big on, and other reasons late in the game needless to say I think he's an idiot. Fenris I wasn't really to interested in due to the lyrium infused stuff as I really didn't dig the idea...just felt like DA Wolverine but I loved his VA's work with him, but I just really got annoyed with him. Varric calling him a brooder, and picking on fangirls loving him as some party banter is too funny though

Varric is gold, period.

I was pretty "meh" about Varric pregame, but he's really starting to grow on me. His sense of humor is always nice.

Merril is adorable, but I don't like her all that much. Her cuteness just doesn't do anything for me.

Anders, Aveline, Fenris, and Isabela are all favorites of mine. The snarky banter between them is just, awesome.

Varric and Aveline. Like whoa. Anders grew on me from being a character I already liked to one of my favorite DA characters.

Fenris and Sebastian went the other way. I like them both, and maybe it's because of the ruthlessly pro-mage blood mage I'm playing, but I feel like their rivalry paths bring out too many of their flaws without counterbalancing their strengths. That and...sorry, Sebastian, but stepping on the wrong side of Anders is not a good way to earn points

I love isabela and have been romancing her so shes number one in my book. Its funny cuz she looks completely different in this game than in part one-shes got darker skin almost like shes a gypsy. I also enjoy having Bethany on my team as well as Varrick they havent let me down yet and ive been playing this game for almost 20hours. Im looking forward to meeting fenris to see what hes about-cuz he hasnt popped up.

I felt kind of meh about the Awakening Anders and the new Anders is much more appealing. Sure, he's creepy and narrow-minded, but it's fun as hell to oppose him. Can't wait to ... stab him dead. ^^

With this one, well... I'm not yet at the point where I'd like to attach him to a nuke and drop it onto the Square Enix HQ, but I already want to fire him out of a howitzer at the said HQ and forget him there.

I loved Varric, Isabela and Aveline those 3 characters are just great they're funny and have irresistable friendship paths. Bethany and Carver are both great too, they're not full companions though but the family dynamics work great with both of them.

I really didn't like Merril as I found her constant ineptitude incredibly annoying she can't do anything or get a clue. I hated both Fenris and Anders, Fenris is incredibly annoying and intensely hypocritical plus the constant brooding and emo behaviour just got on my goddamn nerves. As for why I hate Anders, anybody who finished the game doesn't need an explanation as to why Anders is worthy of hatred. The fact that he was a humourless dick prior to doing that just makes him worse.

On the other hand, I really dislike the new Anders and Isabella. Also, in regards to Anders, the new VA does not pull of the sarcasm and dry humor as well as Greg Ellis did in Awakening.

The more I look at her, the more I realize there's really nothing wrong with how they have the other elves looking.  Also, she has a bigger chest than the keeper, I thought that was interesting.

Also, her reactions to Hawke flirting with her is kind of amusing.  The same goes for Aveline, I flirted with her during her Act 2 personal quest to get the one guardsman to notice she had feelings for him and that was quite amusing.

i found varric isabela and merril to be my favorite companions and became my near constant party since i went into the deep roads. The 3 of them just worked great and had pretty good banter. I wasnt sure how i was going to like any of the companions but those 3 were awesome. I even liked isabela so much as the game went on that i decided to complete the romance with her, she actually grows as a character as time goes on. at least in my playthrough as a good guy male 2h warrior.

I am surprised how Anders romance goes.. he seem to fear it so much, but he is human and wants something to hold on to. I can't help but go "awwww" all the time.

I have only flirted abit with Fenris as a female mage... which was surprisingly sweet and successful. I did love watching Carver stand up for his sis with Fenris.

Varric, definitely.  I must admit I rolled my eyes a bit at all the pre-game excitement on the forums about him, the chest hair jokes and all that.  But I was unprepared for how much of an awesome bro he'd be.  The guy is hilarious and I adore him.  I think he'll be Hawke's best friend during every single playthrough.  His commentary is just too funny.

Aveline has definitely grown on me. Merrill definitely has, since she's so dorky in a cute way. I enjoy mos of the characters, but so far not as much as the original. Maybe its because you have less opportunities to talk to them.

I absolutely adore Fenris. I didn't romance him the first time through because I was determined to have Anders (*sigh* Anders, you poor, poor fool.) So, I'm romancing him on my mage currently.

And Varric's comments throughout the game have made me chuckle so many times!

I can't really stand Merrill. She's a bit too naive for my tastes. And her rambling is annoying. Thus, she is only in my party when the game requires it.

I'd rather just run around with Varric and Fenris. I don't have a steady third member yet, as I'm just getting to know Isabela and Carver (I was a rogue the first time through).

I was completely blindsided by how much I wound up liking Anders. I liked him alright in Awakenings, but thought he was shallow and didn't particularly want him taking up a precious companion slot in DA2. Imagine my surprise when I felt compelled to romance him and rarely let him out of my party.

Carver is another character I didn't care much about either way that I've come to really like. He's a fussbutt, but in a way I can understand ... and also have sort of dealt with. He and one of my younger sisters have a lot in common.

I love all the party members. However my main team is Isabela / Fenris / Anders. Myself as an Assassin Archer. This them kicks so much ass.

Varric is shrinking on me the more I have to talk to him.  My Hawke is pretty good buds with him, but she's a lot more forgiving than I am.  The forced conversational cutscenes in the Deep Roads were the worst.  Yeeech.  And now I have to take him on another quest.  His "funny" lines just aren't that funny to me-- I kind of like Fenris' dark and dry sense of humor better.

Anders is slowly growing on me a bit, though I'm kind of sick of him tormenting Fenris.  If I still had Bethany, this wouldn't be a problem
I'm really starting to like Merrill after her kind of bumbling intro.  Her convo about Bethany was just so sweet :happy:

Kind of liking Isabella also.

i knew i'd like Varric,

but the ones that really surprised me in terms of personality and general stuff. Easily Aveline. i started the game expecting to hate and ignore her, but god damn did she turn that around by being super tough and awesome and super cute and feminine AT THE SAME TIME, i dunno how they pulled it off so well but it worked perfectly. she's probably the first "tough and gruff girl" in a video game that i didn't really hate. she became on of my absolute favorites. completely took me by surprise, extremely well written character. helping her and donnic get together was probably the most adorable quest ive done in a game ever lol.

isabella while super ****ty and has that whole "generic pirate thief" thing going on, she's still super interesting and awesome to have around, again i thought she'd be the generic over-sexualized female character, but she brings it with such style and wit its hard to not like her lol.

merill well is too adorable NOT to like. shes like this games version of leliana except instead of being an assassin she's a blood mage lol.

Anders went from being a goofball to being CRAZY, which i kinda liked, it was a change in character but it was done in a way that made it seem like he WAS a goofball but then became more serious and extremist later on.

Fenris i kinda ignored? i didnt mean to but i kinda forgot about him lol. i missed a bunch of dialogue sequences and quests with him so the whole fenris friendship thing sorta went no where after recruiting him.

Carver i really liked, even though i hated him, i liked that i hated him. his whole super resentful thing against you was great.
