What if they had called it
Dragon Age: Hawkeing for Booty!
Press A to make something AWESOME happen
Then I'd think expectations were being managed.
lol, perhaps that goes TOO far to the other side of the spectrum. The game isnt WITHOUT merit... It's just not what some of us expected it to be.

I'm sure I'll end up liking the game after beating it. I just hope I like it more than I liked Mass Effect 2, which I really really really tried to play all the way through, but man... I couldn't slog through it.

But I've rant enough disappointment for the past months. There's nothing left inside me. Let's hope we'll get to see the future of Dragon Age 3 which is my true anticipated game due to Morrigan's story. I couldn't wait for my warden's love interest to return even if my warden himself couldn't make it.

Really? I think once you got past the horrible resource mining and highly linear maps, ME2 was enjoyable.
I expect a game like ME2 to be a bit faster paced and a bit more FPS-like given its genre of SciFi...

OP makes a very valid point. However, as someone who never got past the first few hours of DAO (felt too slow and the combat sucked, which is sad because I knew the characters/story were spectacular and really wished I could have toughed it out), I doubt this will affect my opinion of the game.
So you're a dumb ass that doesn't realize you can reduce difficulty or that combat will be slow in the beginning in an RPG because you suck.
I wish people like you would just drop dead from stupidity.

Why so angry? :-) Make your point without being a total spaz please!
I agree that DA2 isnt the quality that DA:O was, but lets try to remain civil.

Hmm. What if people disliked and voiced their opinions about a future Dragon Age? Quel horreur!
I imagine it would look something like this:
Stage 1:Denial
Posts of "No, anything under 9/10 can't be true" and "They haven't played it yet, they can't be honest"
Stage 2: Anger
As the truth sinks in, posts of "4Chan is the one raiding us, we aren't to blame for our creation" and further predictions of raids to come
Stage 3: Bargaining
Hopeful posts of "Well, 4chan doesn't play video games, they can't formulate criticism, right?"
Stage 4: Depression
"No one likes video games anymore", "Consumers don't know an RPG" etc
Stage 5: Acceptance
You see whatever game it is for what it actually is and try better on your next installment.
or, alternatively Stage 5: Acceptance
You realize you turned away from appealing RPG fans, to CoD fans. You move on.
or, if you really must, you go back to Stage 1: Denial
You refuse to accept customer's bad review's as legit, and only accept 10/10's for that matter, and begin a bitter campaign to convince everyone else RPG's are the same 5 dungeons copied over and over.

i think console sales will be good but PC will be less that satisfactory
Yeah I definitely think so too, but a lot of people preordered this game digitally for the pc so what I predict is a sharp drop in pc sales at least after this month. Consumer expectation mismanagement indeed...I digitally preordered this quite early with the understanding that it would INDEED be the spiritual successor to Dragon Age: Origins. I'm just glad that I got it for $300 HKD which if you divide by 8 will be in USD so that'd be around $37.5 USD. It must suck for those people that got it for 59.99...Dunno about the consoles though...I sincerely doubt the most hardcore traditional rpg'ists would be playing on that platform or at least few of them.

While this may be true, this fact is not something to take solace in. It will very likely only exacerbate the demise of PC game production.

It seems like Origins in the title of the first isn't necessarily referring to your character's beginnings, the character that you will follow throughout the game's sequels and entire existence, but in fact Origins only refers to a game mechanic that can supply the player with up to two hours of totally unique experience each time they play the game (up to like 6 times)
