I'm having trouble getting my companion armor upgrades to show up.
The first problem I had was with Varric. I baught his "Inscribed Leather Harness" upgrade but later when I checked his armor it didn't show up that I had purchased it. I had thought maybe this was because I purchased the upgrade without him in my party.
Then I noticed this problem even with my party members present at purchase. Each time I purchase an upgrade I hear the triumph ping noise thing, and I see the party member light up, but then when I inspect their armor I don't see the upgrade. Some upgrades show up while other are not. For instance Isabella's "Rigid Boning" shows up, but not her "Supportive Corselet." And I can't get any of Fenris upgrades to show up either...
Do all upgrades not show up when you inspect your companions armor? Am I doing something wrong? Is this a glitch?
I want to make my party stronger and I would also like to get the "I got your back" achievment.

If you go to the armour tab for your companions, you will see that there are four "rectangles" underneath the picture of the armour on the left.
Every armour upgrade you get for your companions will fill in one of those rectangles. It does not appear (AFAIK) as actual, wearable armour. Companions cannot use any wearable items other than rings/amulets. (And weapons).

Thank you very much, I couldn't see the blank rectangles until I got up close to the screen on my tv but I can see the filled in ones...not that I knew what they were for until now. It would be nice if I could move my cursor around and it would tell me what those things meant or which ones I unlocked for them for better track keeping. But at least I now know they are there. I was mostly confused because some things like Merrill's "Carved Ironwood Buttons" show up under the description of her "Vestments of the First" but other upgrades do not show up under description. Any who thank you very much for your help.
