Alright so I'm about 16 hours in give or take and I have one serious question that if the answer is what i think it is im not going to bother finishing and just kiss my money off on a horrible game.
Do you actually get to explore the world outside of Kirkwall and the immediate surrounding area?!?!
(and the deep roads which was basically walk to here, kill this big guy and makes some money)
I mean come on Origins had a huge world that didnt even touch on every kingdom and they couldnt have thrown in a little bit of exploration? I'm sorry but the biggest game killer in the world is seeing the same scenery over and over again. Did anyone notice the caves on the first part of act 1 were the same caves over and over you just entered them in different areas... Yes it does look pretty and yes the combat is a great improvement but if I dont feel like I'm doing something beside running around in circles killing things in the same cardboard box that I was in 5 hours ago I get a little depressed... I dont know how everyone else feels about this but they could have added a little bit more into the whole storyline besides doing repetitive tasks in the same spot... If there is nothing more to the world than this then the only thing that will get me to finish it is having the option of keeping my stats and starting a new playthrough at whatever level i end up on... An big part of alot of my favorite RPGs that Origins lacked.
Is there any more exploration than this?

Last time I check, DA2 is about Hawke rise to power, not exploring the world.

Well 16 hours in and I honestly couldn't give crap if someone shanked Hawke in the throat and left him in a ditch... they should really put more effort into actually explaining the main character and why he is so power hungry instead of running you around in circles doing favors for everyone and their momma. And i think my biggest disappointment is demented Anders, yea he's possessed but a little comic relief every once and awhile wouldnt hurt...

Let me get your facts straight son.
1. DA2 is about Hawke rise to power, not exploring the world.
It is the main focus of the game. And no, Hawke is power hungry or not is totally depending on the player, not storytelling.
2. DA:O has exploration because the Warden has to gather ally to defeat the Archdemon, hence, traveling to different places finding different ally makes sense. Exploration was not intended.
3. You can kiss your money and that 16 hours of your life good bye now because you are definitely buying the wrong game.
4. You type a whole paragraph out of total misunderstanding of DA2.
Great job, now GTFO.

The thing is, Dragon Age 2 is a much different story and game play experience than Origins. That's not a bad thing. You're looking into one specific character instead of the larger world aspect from the first game. If DA2 was the exact same as Origins, people would complain about that too! I say, sit back, enjoy DA2 for what it is, go back and enjoy Origins again, and then wait for DA3
