Hi, i really need help with this....

got dragon age 2 signature edition on pre-order today, went to install to my lapop and it refuses to install... tried it three times now and it stops every time on extracting_core audio.rar (or something) at 76.3%

my laptop specs are:

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Model: HP HDX 16 notebook PC
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU    P8400   @ 2.26GHz      2.27GHz
Memory(RAM): 4.00GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system

i managed to run DA:O on full without any real problems so i assumed this would work fine

any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as im aching to play xD

Thanks in Advance :)

If a disk you are installing from, try copying the disk to a folder and running the install from there. I could not get the game to install from disk on my game rig. I couldn't even get a copy of the disk to complete. I was able to copy the game disk to a folder on a second machine then copy the folder to my game rig to install.

Three things: laptops get no official support, what Operation System and what Service Pack, and you have omitted the data on the most important part of a PC when it comes to perceived performance:

Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so please answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations.  Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

P. S.  Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

The game's own configuration too, once you get the game installed, collects almost all the needed information.

Ahh, it's fixed now. Copying the disc to a folder and installing it from there worked, not quite sure how, but thank you, CavScout!

Also, Gorath Alpha, sorry for the lack of information, I had my friend write this while I was trying to figure out what was wrong, so they didn't really know what info to include.
