Someone commented in another thread (and please take credit, cause it was an amazing point) that it actually simulates real revenge quite well. The emptyness still remains, there is no real weight or relief off your shoulders, theres just another dead body.
That is exactly what I thought when my PC killed Howe. One thing about Dragon Age is the fact it makes you face up to real-world emotions and situations.
For me? I would say the scene where Zathrian kills himself and The Spirit. Beautiful. It felt so right and I felt that in that I could have finished the game and been happy.
I think all the characters have their touching moments. When Zevran tells you of Riina. Sure, at first I thought,
"OH GOD, CARTH SYNDROME!" but then he admits to not having much respect for himself... and that was when he became one of my favourite characters. He never thought he was worth much as a person, and that really got me. I felt compelled to make him my bud and give him a cuddle.
Leliana in general, I think. She seemed kind of dainty and sweet at first, but after a while you begin to peel back her layers and reveal a strong, intelligent woman. I loved having my PC talk to her about shoes. Her most touching scene was when she
Oghren was also one of my fav- no. Scratch that. I loved all the companions, and even a lot of the NPCs. All of them had their moments. I mean, I hated Isolde at first. After seeing how misled she was, I felt sorry for her. She made the wrong decisions and she refused to take responsibility for those but she loved her son so much. Oghren's speech to you (if you are his friend) before the battle, Morrigan's reaction when you tell her she is your friend... wow. I could go on.
