When meeting the guardian by the gauntlet, having Oghren explaining about his regrets. No wonder he gets drunk all the time.

Three moments for me that really pulled on my heartstrings.

As a Dalish Elf, the Shriek ambush. "Always-- loved you --- lethallan."

And then at the end of the game, when you're talking to all your companions one last time... In a romance with Alistair, if you tell him you love him.. he says 'I love you. Always." I get chills. Steve Valentine did that PERFECTLY and I tear up every time I hear it.

Oh, and, pretty much every Isolde says when you tell her Connor needs to die... very powerful.

I'm a complete smush and this game had me going through boxes of tissues. And it often came from little moments. The first time through I was entirely enthralled with Alistair and dog and just spent so much time in camp or on the road talking to them or petting the dog.
Dog bringing me a human child and me telling him he wasn't big enough to fight the darkspawn.
Sten confessing his love for cookies.
Oghren "romancing" his girl and saying "I still got it..."
Morrigan's eyebrows drawin together when she says she may not always live up to my friendship, but will always treasure it.
Fourth replay through and I'm still really enjoying myself. Still pulling tissues from the box.

Everything in the game touches you in a different way. Including Zevrin, but I'm trying to forget that. It's well-made, bordering on the quality of a novel/movie, which is extremely hard to pull off in the context of a video game.

Wait, when does the dog bring you a kid?

In Denerim.  Dog has a little boy trailing behind him who keeps throwing his arms up and saying "PUPPY!"
Dog just has his tail wagging madly in that "can I keep him?" way and you have a conversation.  Ranging from "Maker!  Where did you find that!?" and "You have to bring him back to his parents RIGHT NOW" to stuff like "Well, if he comes with us, he'll have to fight the darkspawn."  "Yes, I know he's too young, that's my point."

After ending the werewolf curse, I killed all the ex-werewolves. They were murderers and deserved to die for what they did to Zathran's family. Bringing justice makes me feel warm.

To my elf, asking Alistair if he wanted to be with me even though I wasn't human and him saying "Especially because of that."

That's some damned fine voice acting.

I was quite surprised at some of the more serious and emotional conversations you can get out of Oghren with high approval. Especially before the final battle when he tells you something along the lines of "I'd follow you to my death, Warden. You have my utmost respect and I'm proud to call you my friend. Now let's go sodding kick some ass!" My closest save before that is a couple of hours prior so I can't really be bothered to check what he actually says. I really don't do it justice, though.

The ending before the final fight also.  Oghren saying "Let's show them our hearts, andt then show them theirs."  Almost all of the characters when they're very high in approval kick out enough good stuff that I can't really stand to ****** them off. Any of them.
Hell, I have a tough time being in party and just hearing non-approving tones of voice when I reset.
When I start a new game and they're saying "What now?!" instead of "My love?" I feel a pang.

Did Zehvran touch you in your special place?

Counsellor: Ok Grey Warden show me on the doll where exactly the elf touched you.

They make it pragmatically hard to be evil.  Finding out that wiping out the Dalish wipes out all access to infinite elfroot is enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.  I like my poultices.  Also, it's tough for me to "betray" some of the starting stories.  Like the Human Noble.  I find it tough to go through that and then go out in the world and be a complete **** if my parents were so damned cool.  I've started a few evil characters...but mostly for the achievements, my heart wasn't in it and then I couldn't finish the game.  But I did want blood mage...and reaver...but then I wanted to take a psychic shower.
And I can't stand to hear Branka, of all people, lecture me on character.

When my PC went with Alistair to visit his sister, and she was so harsh. My sympathies were keenly split between Alistair and Goldanna. It was so clear why she resented him, and resented the PC + Alistair for strutting much too late into her life and expecting a welcome, but at the same time, you could see how much Alistair wants that affection - even if he wanted it in a rather childish way, to be patted on the head and told what a nice charming boy he is.
Another moment was with my second PC - though more on a meta level, because I knew what was going to happen at the Landsmeet, and enjoyed the irony when she told Alistair 'I'd never hurt you.'

I always felt sorry for Fergus' son and wife. The part Fergus happily says good bye to them was touching.

Ending was touching.

I was saving myself for Duncan. He's so manly, even other men are women by comparison.

Morrigan - when your approval starts getting very high (esp if she is in love) and she becomes uncomfortable talking to you because she is trying to control her emotions

Playing a male city elf, when you 'meet' Shianni again during the 2nd part of the gauntlet and she tells you that she's happy for you and not to worry when you expressed sadness for what happened to her.

Loghain's last words to Anora. That got me tearing up pretty well. Then it cuts to PC/Alistair bearing down on him with every intent of watching his head fly. Very chilling.

Also when Alistair says you make him feel like his head is going to explode. I thought that was really sweet and well delivered - my breath caught, I'll admit.

Playing a city elf, I really loved the part after returning to the Alienage, after the quarantine business, where Shianni says something about weasling a bottle of wine cause she and my char had some catching up to do later. My char said to make it two, cause we had a lot of catching up to do.

It gave me a mental image of my char and her cousin passed out drunk at a table after telling stories all night.

Sten smelling flowers on the field...
"soooofty"

Anyways, Loghain saying his farewell to Anora if you choose to kill him. I totally felt with him. I also count it to be the most moving moment in the game.
The other touching thing was when Bodahn Fennick tells his story about meeting and taking Sandal.
Yeah, yeah, in the end, I'm a big sooofty like my friend, Sten.

(it's night here, I can't even write grammatically right.)

In Dalish camp.

Convincing the young Cammen to tell me his troubles. Then talking to Gheyna his beloved dream girl and seducing her.

But the best part came afterward telling Cammen about it and saying: "Just sampling the goods"

Brought a tear to my eye it did, I felt touched, that was just pure evil, my mage was in a jolly mood all day then, especially since he got the chance to come back and slaughter the entire village afterward. It was a beautiful and touching moment of his career.

Upon killing the archdemon Sophie's sword is stuck in the beast and she struggles to pull it out. Morrigan and Alistair come running and stop just a few steps away. Morrigan keeps staring at Sophie, but Alistair takes a sideward glance at Morrigan, his face is so emotional. Anger, panic, accusation, rage and the question of: You promised! What now???

Awww, yeah that was a touching moment for me too...except in place of Alistair, it was Zevran with that terrified expression on his face. I wanted to jump into the game and give him a hug, and say "It's all right, she'll live!"

The whole scene with your PC finishing off the archdemon was touching in a way, and it made my heart swell up in pride...watching her grab the sword, and then, with a look of determination on her face, rushes toward the archdemon with the sword above her head, and then slashes its neck before plunging the sword into the demon, and this burst of light just comes out and radiates from the tower. I could watch that scene again and again...

If you express regret as a human noble of not dying with your parents the scene in the Guantlet when you meet your "father" made me cry. Prehaps it's because of how close knit my family is in RL. And from a roleplay poimt of view my character had not shed a tear over her parents until that moment. Her anger was too great and seeing her father again just broke the damn, as it where, she had built around her emotions.
