Hearing Alistair give that speech, the part where he stops and goes "...and some, loved him" and having the camera. pan to her and the heartbroken look on her face was just heart wrenching...
Huh. I did not get that, despite being at 100% "Love" with her. Do only guys get it? I
was surprised that none of my companions beside Alistair said a word during the eulogy scene. Actually, I didn't get some epilogues about non-party-members that people have mentioned, either ... Like that tavern wench in Redcliffe whom I gave 5 soverigns to. But anyway. The most touching moments for me were, in chronological order:
* The farewell scene of the Cousland family in Fergus' room. I loved "my" family immediately, you could really tell how close they were.
* My character's kickass mother deciding to stay behind to protect her beloved dying husband until her own last breath and buy time for my and Duncan's escape, and both parents' final farewell to their daughter ... It was the first but not last moment that went beyond "touching" and straight into "tear-jerker".
* The Ostagar battle cutscene. I yelled at the screen in disbelief and fury. Poor Cailan. Poor Duncan. Poor countless slaughtered soldiers.
* Alistair's relief at realizing he was not the only survivor.
* Coming to the Circle Tower and hearing the tears in Gregoir's voice when he spoke about how painful it is to hope for survivors and find none.
* The elven woman who became a werewolf (Danyla?) and desperately struggled to control herself, begging me to kill her and tell her husband that she loves him.
* The climax of the Nature of the Beast plot. I was honestly on the edge of my seat, desperately hoping I could make Zathrian see reason and end the curse because these people were not to blame what other humans did to his children, and his own people were suffering too. It was
such a relief when he relented. The conversation between him and the Lady, and the werewolves' farewells to the Lady before she and Zathrian died were so moving I cried. This plot was really, really well done.
* Leliana's song in camp afterwards made me misty-eyed
again.
* Leliana's and my noble warrior's mutual admission of love was rather sweet and amusing at the same time.
* The Gauntlet with the ghostly images of important people from Andraste's life, followed by the apparition of my character's father.
* The talk with Alistair after Eamon blurted out his hidden heritage. He was like a little brother to my character, and it was really sad to hear him say he hoped someone would like him for himself, not for being a prince. It really shows how little parental love and general care people have shown him in his life so far.
* Not so much "touching" as "viscerally satisfying on a bad day when I really needed it": the adrenaline-laden battle with the high dragon and my character striking the deathblow.
* Ruck in the Deep Roads. Hardest choice in the game for me was to put him out of his misery. He wasn't hurting anyone. He trusted me. But he did carry the taint, and I thought his pain and madness would only get worse in time. Poor guy. I felt like dirt even although it was a mercy killing.
* Hespith ... "disturbing" would be too mild a term. I so wished I could have helped her, if only with a clean death. There was NO SODDING WAY I would let Branka live after that.
* Loghain's parting words and his farewell to his daughter. His death had been a foregone conclusion since Ostagar, with more and more crimes piled on top that that first betrayal. It was bloody satisfying to turn the Landsmeet against him, beat him down in a duel -- yet those words, and his sudden change from screaming maniac to dignified acceptance and respect for the Warden, did make me swallow hard before I stuck him down.
* Riordan's revelation about the archdemon. He sounds sad, resigned yet determined. In that moment I
knew I would get the true warrior's death I'd had my hopes on for this character from the beginning.
* The entire sequence with the armies marching out to Eamon's words and that epic sorrowful music, followed by Alistair's battle-speech and our charge at the burning city. I had tears in my eyes yet was fired up and wanted to cheer at the same time. And Alistair, buddy, look into a mirror now and dare to repeat you know nothing about leading.
* The parting words with each companion at the gates. I almost always travelled with Dog, Wynne and Leliana, yet left Dog behind to make Alistair since it made sense he had to be there. I hated saying goodbye to my faithful sad mabari who clearly knew he would never see me again.

Wynne and Leliana had good lines, but to my surprise the best was Oghren. Earned him big points in my book.
* Riordan's death. Poor brave fellow.
* And, of course, the ultimate sacrifice after the intense archdemon fight. It was everything I could have hoped for. Awesome. Even if I didn't hate Morrigan's guts, I could never spoil this incredible moment by chickening out and talking Alistair into her bed for that stupid ritual.
* Finally, the epilogue. It was perfect, from Alistair's speech to the little snippets of all the places and people. More than enough honor and hope and light to know the sacrifice was well worth it, yet no silly perfect fairytale ending. And again, it was Oghren's epilogue which made me tear up the most. That drunken lecher, settled and sober and married, crying as he names his firstborn daughter after my character? Damn. That and his farewell words at the gates
so earned him a place in a future playthrough.
