Ever since Baldur's Gate 2: The Throne of Bhaal I have been waiting for a game that had high adventure, sensible dialogue, deep characters options, and above all a fantastic story. I am very happy to say that I found it in Dragon Age: Origins. I could go on and on about this game, but the highest form of praise I can give it is that it has been the first game I have bought since Baldur's Gate 2 that I genuinely feel was worth the price I paid.
This game is in my opinion the crowning jewel of anything Bioware has done since Baldur's Gate 2 and I hope EA is listening to this. Make damn certain you keep Mr. Gaider. Anything this man participates in seems to be pure gold. Please keep him happy and keep him working in Bioware making these amazing RPGs!
There were some things that were missing in my game that I found puzzling. I hope a developer could explain two points to me. First why were there darkspawn at our rear in the ending? I realize it was probably to make the encounter more difficult, but it really didn't make sense to me plot wise since my second group was supposed to be covering our rear and they never faltered. The second point was what happened to JESSE?!? As a human nobel I was quite attached to my loyal mabari. It would have really been nice to see the PC before the battle ask the love interest to take care of his dog if he/she died. If not the love interest then one of the other companions.
Amazing game, thank you for a wonderful story, top notch product and a worthy spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. Oh yeah, and when is the sequel/expansion/downloadable content?!?
A Fan's Thank You to Bioware and Mr. Gaider
