Just an update on this issue:

Looks* like we've got this issue resolved (finally). Assuming all goes well, it will be included in the next patch

That's great news, I really hope it'll be resolved. Now we just have to wait 6-8 weeks to find out.:P

Try as I might, I have not been able to duplicate this on my system (see my specs below).

I've tried pulling out one card, turning off SLI, SLI on.. various settings... Clicking the RMB doesn't give me any FPS boost.. nor does the mouse seem to impact my FPS in any, negative way

I'm runing Win 7x64 (specs below)

This is clearly an issue that a lot of people have. I've been trying to look for some sort of pattern that would cause it. My mouse is a Logitech G9 with current Logitech G9 drivers. I may try a MS mouse that I have in my closet to see if I can cause this to trigger in my system.

You probably wouldn't notice it on a system of that caliber. After the huge performance boost of the beta drivers I barely notice it in most situations with my GTX 470 (but can tell it's still happening). But on my other system with a Radeon Mobility HD4670 it's a horrible experience unless the RMB is held/etc.

Maybe you could have a chance of reproducing it if you used stock clocks, or underclocked, lol.

 I have this problem too.

My system is an i7 2600K , 8GB Ram and MSI 570 Twin Frozr II SLI.

Game runs at around 85-120 fps VSync on with the high res texture pack, DX11 and x4 AA.

Such a strange issue. Hold down the right mouse button, all is well again.

I also have a 120hz monitor btw, setting to 60hz obviously caps fps to 60 but it still happens.

I've been playing the game for way too many hours wondering what the stuttering was about. Finally found this forum and now it makes sense; The cursor being in view causes stuttering. Changing graphics settings doesn't change this.
Hope the newest patch works!

It's insane considering how long the game has been out now, just never feel like playing it in this state.

Same , cant believe it has taken them so long to release the fix they said they have for this. Wonder if this slow service they provide will be the same when Star wars the old republic comes out, so annoying.

It won't last five minutes if that's the case, especially if people are paying subscription fees every month.

Anymore patch news?

It's almost become a joke that this is still an issue. I'm glad I was one of the people that could "fix" this with the windowed option.
Every time I hop on Steam I expect to see that fateful patch popping up, but it never does.

Yup, I am also one of the people waiting for this fix before I can play and enjoy the game. It's amazing that this wasn't picked up during testing. It's very frustrating being left waiting for what seems so silly an issue. Hurry up Bioware!

Finally. After two months, and within the first month getting no response whatsoever, we'll finally have a fix for this.

BioWare, thank you.  It is much appreciated.

It's been a month since they said they were going to fix it though...

I'm not seeing your point.  Please elaborate?

A note about the fix that we've included in the upcoming patch - we've added a new checkbox to the options menu, allowing you to choose between two different targeting systems. The system that shipped with the game is more accurate but, as you all know, can perform poorly on some systems. The second targeting system sacrifices some of that accuracy for improved performance.

So, when the patch releases, the game will continue to default to the original targeting system. If you're not happy with how it performs on your machine, please go into the options menu and experiment with the two systems to find the one that you prefer.

Thanks for raising the issue,
Rob
