I run an Alienware Aurora
Windows 7 64bit
i7 920 @ 3.6ghz OC'ed w/ turbo
6gigs of RAM
radeon hd 5970 w/ both gpu's on (problem persists with one on and cat AI off as well.)
I have the same problems on all settings and all DX versions (9 or 11)
I have posted recently that an EA tech support guy claims that this game was never tested on Win 7 or any 64 bit OS at all. True or not, this is one hell of a screw up.
Is it true that almost half of us own a 64 bit OS? Hint hint. <.<

Im using win 7 64-bit and you're right most people seem to be as well (who doesn't really these days?).
If bioware never tested the game on win 7 64-bit (if that is the common denominator) then you're right, its a huge oversight. Guess all the loving is giving to the console platforms these days.

I would like to hear some official responce as well, but for our problem the game is still playable, and I understand that working on the game breaking bugs takes higher priority.
I still wanted to get in on this thread beacuse the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Windows Vista 64bit
Intell Core 2 Duo 6850 3.00ghz
4gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512
(And yes, even with this older CPU and GPU the game runs great on high. As long as I hold that RMB)
(Sorry about my spelling and grammer, english is not my first language)
--EDIT: One other thing to note here. I did not have this problem in the Demo. The demo was very smooth no matter what I was doing to the RMB. Anyone else try the demo that is having this problem? Can you confirm?

The animations are very low frames per second, and the camera seems to have a small lag behind it, as if its rubber banding every so lightly.
I run with the mouse, I am getting the same FPS, but the animations are solid and no jerkiness in the camera following it DESPITE, only having a low 30~45 fps.
I switched it to high to have decent frame rates in the 90s~150fs, and the same jerkiness when using a keyboard, and smooth frame transition when using the mouse to move.
No other game I have, DX11 or other, exhibits this behavior, all 125 of them.
i7 980x @ 4.25 GHz (HT On, so 12 Threads)

2x PNY GTX 280 XLR8 (GPU0 900/2200, GPU1 900/2200)
EVGA 770 classified 3 (Bios 78)
X-Fi Fatal1ty Championship Series
Roccat Kave 5.1 Headphones
Windows 7 (Ultimate) (x64) + Service Pack 1
Tested:
nVidia Forceware Driver (267.31) - The GTX 580 Beta Drivers
nVidia Forceware Driver (267.24) - nVidia Beta Drivers
nVidia Forceware Driver (266.58) - The WHQL Drivers
DX11 - Latest Runtime
DA2 (with all the others) is installed on a RAID-0 with 2x Western Digital Black Caviars (750 GB, 7200 RPM, 32MB Cache)
Razer Mamba for mouse.
Razer Marauder for keyboard.
Both installed with their drivers and properly configured. No issues in other titles, most notably, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4, and Bioshock 2 (played within the last week). I tested Metro2033 (Dx11) on its version of Very High, and had no issue, either with frame rates being 60+ or with Human Interfaces causing any type of lag.

On my main computer (power beast) with 64bit windows 7 i have that small lagg all the time EXCEPT when i press the right mouse button, but on my laptop with 32bit windows 7 i have no lagg and it plays better than my main computer.
The lagg is in no way affected by changes in video settings, be that resolution, texture level (medium, high, low etc) or use of the high resolutions texture pack.
I will check if the FPS itself changes on my 64bit comp when the right mouse button is pressed down.

It just looks like the FPS is ~50% with rmb not pressed.

So we've basically confirmed that bioware just shipped and finalized a huge game without testing it on 64 bit systems first?

NVidia GeForce 9600M GT
Also having the same issue. Silky smooth framerate while right mouse button pressed, stuttering when it's not pressed.

Confirmed or not, how does comments like this help us get anything fixed. Sorry to single you out Dok.
Being nagative helps no one. Lets keep this thread posative and helpfull. The more helpfull and posative we players are the quicker this gets resolved. THEN you can rant and rave.
Did any of you who are havimg the RMB issue try the demo? Did you have this issue in the Demo? I tried it, and I do not remember any of the stuttering that I am currently having. Running it on the same machine.
And lastly(is lastly a word?), I am just grasping at staws here, I have DA2 installed on a sepparate hard drive then my OS. I have Vists 64 on the C: drive and DA2 on the E: drive. I assume that it makes no differance at all but like I said, I'm grasping at straws. All of you having this issue do you have only one hard drive or are you running 2 of them like me? (just looking for the common denominator)
Keep the feedback coming. And those of you who post your specs you are helping the cause.

Well my post wasn't meant to be negative, sorry if it came across that way. It was said in a more tongue in cheek way (thats what the smiley is for:P).
I do have faith that bioware will confirm this issue soon, they might be double checking it and stuff as we speak(type).

I don't recall having this issue with the demo. I'll redownload it tonight and see what happens.
Also, my OS is on my WDB 640GB, while my games are on my WDB 750GB, both Sata II HDD's.
Just an FYI to AMD GPU users, if you upgraded to the preview 11.4 drivers, make sure to uncheck morphological AA. Not sure why, but it defaults to on, which wrecks the FPS. Doesn't solve the issue though, but every little bit helps.

It's a lame fix, but I can make the game playable by running it in a 1920x1080 window in D11 mode. It's annoying as hell to have that little title bar sliver at the top of the screen, but the game runs like a million bucks all of a sudden. When in full-screen mode, no matter what I do it's choppy. DX9 mode with no vsync helps, but it's still not great.

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I would say for myself, it's because civil, friendly reminders to BioWare don't seem to be working. I made another thread about this very issue that faded into obscurity. I watched the forums carefully and saw mods responding to other threads and ignoring mine while I desperately bumped it in hopes that it would get noticed.
If I make a plea and I am rudely dismissed, I think I have a right to get belligerent, especially when I paid for a game that isn't working properly, or sometimes, at all.
To respond to your question on the demo, yes I did experience this problem when I was playing the demo. I do not believe the cross-harddrive element you mentioned is related.

When I lower my settings from Very High to High, I get enough fps that the stuttering isn't really noticeable in most locations (it's still bad in high town, but then I get less fps in high town and there are a lot of people walking around).
Of course when I use Very High, I get 20 fps, and the animations are more like 5 fps when the right mouse button isn't being held. Even at 20 fps the game might be playable, but not with this problem.
Another weird thing is that I tried to record this phenomenon with FRAPS, and while recording the stuttering went away. As soon as I stopped recording it was back to its same old ways. I guess to record this I'll have to get my video camera out.
