Got the same problems, by dropping the V-Sync and AA to 0 it help a lot.

But when I got everything at the max, as soon as my mouse enter the bar, it run smooth.

I also had some black/white spot with the Very High resolution that weren't there with the High Resolution and the Mars 15 driver of Nvidia fixed it.

I hate it that this bug forces me to run Dragon Age 2 on "normal", while my hardcore hardware should be able to run this game on "very high". Now I'm stuck on "normal" (a.k.a UGLY) graphics because of this ****ty bug that BioWare refuses to acknowledge...

Same thing here; very slight graphics stutter unless the right mouse button is held down. When it is, everything smooths out. FPS seem to stay the same regardless, but I know my eyes aren't deceiving me...yet.

Playing DX11 - high res textures, very high settings, 4x AA, 4x AF, SSAO, Vsync on, 1920x1080 res

Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit
Core i5 @ 3.4GHz
Nvidia GTX 480
drivers: 267.59

Bump.

I'm experiencing similar things, but what seems to be affecting my game most, is sometimes *severe* dialogue lag, and a lot of stuttering during cutscenes. It's ruining some important cutscenes, and basically annoying the hell out of me.

There are a few partial fixes depending on your set-up. Since I'm starting to doubt we'll ever get a real fix, here are some ways to alleviate things for others with this issue:

1. Try running the game in a window. For me this is a 100% fix, but it sucks running in a window, especially if you want to run the game in a window lower than your native resolution.

2. Hold the right mouse button all of the time. Not a real fix, but it does work.

3. Put your cursor over your abilities bar (or lower). Again, this should fix everything, but the instance your cursor goes back over that line the stutter will come back.

1 does not work for me. 2 and 3 are uncanny. They work, but those aren't really fixes. It does, however, point out that it's an interface/input bug. These are definately the kinds of things a QA team needed to address BEFORE this game went gold. Bah!

Same problem here. It can't be a solution to press the mouse button all the time.

I have this issue but I just assumed that its the camera moving jerkily when its under the games control.. ie moving at small angles each step rather than a smooth action.

I don't think its FPS related just coding. I tend to not use click to move anyway so not a big issue for me... slightly annoying though

Wanted to know as well if anyone else here has the slowing down issue? The issue where Hawke slows down while the rest of the world goes on to have fun.

Well, at the very least I can offer some input on things that absolutely DO NOT work.
I've adjusted all of the settings with the executable (ie. disable desktop composition, DPI scaling, admin rights, etc.) and I've tried every single combination in the Nvidia control panel including editing values for the game profile. That goes for 3 different Nvidia drivers.
I've run the game with every single start-up turned off, and I've run it with Logitech's SetPoint off and on.
In addition, I've adjusted the Win7 magnifier and DPI settings. I think the only thing I haven't touched is ClearType if anyone wants to give that a shot.
Long story short - this isn't something end users can fix, or if it is - it's going to be something WAY out of the ordinary.

I am having this problem, too. Like many others have reported, my frame rate returns to normal when I place my cursor on the quickbar. Here are my specs:

Late 2008 MacBook Pro running Windows 7 SP1
2.53Ghz Core 2 Duo
4 GB DDR 3 RAM
NVIDIA 9600M GT with 512 MB VRAM (266.58 drivers)

Apparently our issue isn't "major" per the Bioware post at the top.
I guess we must just need to get our eyes checked or maybe Kirkwall just gets hit by a lot of earthquakes when the mouse cursor isn't in the right places.

Maybe the stuttering is a feature, and we should be thankful for the privilage of having it incorporated into our game experience.

Just discovered that I'm having this issue as well, running with right mouse button held down runs a lot smoother than running with the keyboard. It's really wierd how if you leave the mouse over the interface bar it runs smooth, then as soon as you move it up it starts lagging.

Also strangely, the cinematics run better on very high than they do on high.

Core 2 Duo @ 3.2 Ghz
4 Gb ram
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1 Gb (DX11 Card) w/ AMD 11.4 Preview Drivers (As suggested by Bioware)
