Let's just say: There is a reason I never bother with comics of any type. Can't Walters write actual novels like Drew? As far as I'm concerned, these comics are not only God awful, but are also insulting to the entire Mass Effect franchise and what it is supposed to be. I would have believed it if we were told they were the work of some 16-year-old's over at DeviantArt or such.

I'm not sure this comic book crap was exactly Mac Walters's idea. And I'm not sure if he really enjoys it or has any choice other than "do it, or pack up". Looking at the plot fail of such magnitude, I have to guess that maybe it's his fault too. But where have Casey Hudson and the doctors been looking, one might ask then.

Anyway I'm taking this opportunity to re-state that as soon as ME1 was released, the franchise began to be turned into SНIТ, and ME2 bears all the signs of it, such as DAT ASS and TEH BOOBS. This comic is just a logical development of these "tropes" precedence over the story.

Evolution - Because the ME story had to be screwed with at some point.

Im thinking of making this into a motivational. Also, it's good to see Zulu is back to his old self. It was probably puberty.

I'm very curious as to how Saren and those Turians are controlling the Reaper husks.

That method could be quite useful in ME3.

I can see it now, ME3 will comprise of  Earth a London suburb, Omega, and Ilium. And we will magically bump into every NPC we've previously met in the series in one bar.

Oh lord, please don't let this be true.

I wouldn't be too worried about ME3 in this regard. After all, both ME1 and ME2 did introduce a lot of places and let us visit a fair number of those. All the DLCs happen in different places, too, and introduce new characters.

The "galaxy of five worlds and 200 people" problem seems to lie mostly with the comics and (and Retribution, to some extent): you'd think it wouldn't consume too much resources to draw or simply write new people or places... So yeah, I don't think this will be a problem with ME3, but the comics are a missed opportunity.

I wouldn't say that the comics are EXCRUCIATINGLY bad, but they're disappointing.

There's a reason Mass Effect has been called "the next Star Wars", because it does have a massive amount of potential for adaptation to non-gaming formats (specifically, movies), and the lore is just so awesome and well thought out that introducing retcons really does lessen it in a way. Of course, with the amount of IP inconsistencies between ME1 and ME2, further inconsistencies aren't surprising; just very disappointing.

I just hoped for more from Bioware/EA. Personally, I'm sick of Illium (yeah, it's sorta cool, but I've had enough of it; Liara, Samara, Thane, Conrad Verner, Parasini, Shiala, Nassana Dantius... really?).

I also hope the comic book boobies don't influence the character models in ME3. DA2 already featured massive bazungas; no need to make every woman have joke-sized ******.:?

Wait. The art is now good? Great.

And I think that you are all underestimating the comic. What's Desolas' connection to the Reapers? He can clearly give orders to husks -while on the other hand, Saren seems unable to do so- and seems to be looking for these artifacts (that may appear in Arrival). Did the Reapers send him to complete this task?

If so why? What use do the monoliths have? Well, it does explain Saren's excitement when he discovered the location of Sovereign.

Let the inqustion burn this heritcal piece blasphemy and banish it to the darkest depths of hell,

Now serious: i have never been to fond of all these spin-off comics, for Mass Effect is just the three games.

Hello, Im jack Harper *cough* Illusive Man *cough* and I just magically appeared in Illium when I had no idea where it is or where I was headed! Oh looky here, an Omni-Tool just magically appeared in my hand, I have no idea what it does but I know exactly how to use it! A license or training to fly an alien created sky car? Not for me! A special permit to fly around making trouble with Specters and Turian military after we just went to war with them? Nope! Are aliens amazed by the new species that is humanity? Of course they aren't! Why would they?

They are awful at continuity too. In the comic, Ashely's grandfather decides to leave the Alliance, in the game, he is fired. In the game, Saren's brother is killed in the war, in the comic, he is still kicking in issue #3.

Damn awful comic.

I'm not sure why people are surprised. This kind of crap is what always happens once EA gets their slimy proboscises on an IP.

If so, how is TIM speaking turian? O.o I mean, they uploaded english to translators that fast? :o

The monolith from the second issue granted him the ability to understand the asari languange, so it's possible that he learned turian too.

Also, it's not 'too fast', humanity has been around for a couple of months, they should have started designing translating programs after the very first contact.

The Reapers seem to have some involvement in this, and considering that he has the visions too, TIM may have been partially reaperified. Also, the black outs were introduced in Retribution.

A license or training to fly an alien created sky car? Not for me!

Isn't the shuttle belonging to Williams?

A special permit to fly around making trouble with Specters and Turian military after we just went to war with them? Nope! Are aliens amazed by the new species that is humanity? Of course they aren't! Why would they?

These guys don't look like the military, and even if they are, they seem to have been assigned as 'bodyguards'. Technically, TIM is not a soldier, he does not follow or is bound by any orders. Not that that will stop the Nos Astra PD from dragging his ass to the nearest precint if they notice that there is a huge shootout going on on a warehouse. :P

Nope! Are aliens amazed by the new species that is humanity? Of course they aren't! Why would they?

Not sure what you mean by this. The humans have had diplomatic relationships with Citadel races for weeks already, it seems.

They are awful at continuity too. In the comic, Ashely's grandfather decides to leave the Alliance, in the game, he is fired.

There's always the probability that his superiors blamed everything about Shanxi on him.

In the game, Saren's brother is killed in the war, in the comic, he is still kicking in issue #3.

Damn awful comic.

I somehow doubt that we would know if Desolas died in a very mysterious shootout concerning a monolith. What the comics have certainly not provided though, is for a reason for TIM to be the racist that he is during the games. 'Blah, blah, Desolas didn't help Hislop at all, even though he died because of his own damn fault. But you know, I now hate all turians'

Not very convincing.

@Phaedon: TIM isn't racist (he slleps with Asari), he just doesn't like that humanity is looked down upon. I feel the same way, humanity deserves more then what they are getting, and we should take it be force if necessary. The Turians are the same, they just prefer to have the other races because it makes things easier for them.
