I'm looking to modify some of the hairstyles and facial hair textures, but I cannot seem to hunt down the proper files. I'd imagine they were in the texture-based .erf files but when I try to extract them with Day's tools, I'm getting a file type not compatible error.
If anyone manages to mod the hairstyles and can point me in the right direction, that would be grand. If I discover anything in the meantime, I'll make sure to let everyone know.

I'd like to modify the colours. The darkest blonde looks like baby poop, I want to make it a golden brown. Not sure if I kind find it in the erf though and if it will work.
We need long hair, for both sexes desperately.

This game needs more beard, tattoo (they are the exact same from the first!) and hairstyles.

We need to be able to change our Jaw/Chin while having a beard... having that option grayed out is kinda weird.

I agree...I mean i love bioware and all there games but...it seems awfully lazy to not even make 1 new facial tattoo...
o well atleast they still have the first dwarven tattoo (which in my opinion is the only tattoo even worth using for a human male char)...
This has also bugged me quite a bit..It was worse in the first one because most of the beards arent even connected to the jawline..its not quite as bad in DA2 but still there none the less...TubularGlucose wrote...

Actually, in both the first game and the Dragon Age 2 demo character creator, you could find the location of the beard you wanted on the facial hair slider, then remove it, go back and modify jaw/chin/ear/mouth settings, then go back to the facial hair slider and click into the proper location. It would add the beard without resetting the face. If you moved the slider over many options, though, it ultimately reset.
Sadly... in the final Dragon Age 2 version... they killed that "bug".
Its stupid that we can't modify these things, and very annoying. Especially considering how some of the presets' chins clip through the beards by default.
I'm still trying to hunt down the proper data to modify textures, but I fear its buried too deep for current user-made tools.

I would absolutely love to be able to have long hair for once.

DA hairstyles for players has always been my biggest complaint about the games. They need more hairstyles available (including long hairstyles) and more realism for those styles. Many of the hairstyles available just look like caps stuck on your head.........

I once accessed the hairstyles using PyGFF. I don't remember where they are, however.
