He's looking for an elf who has his armor, something along those lines.  It doesn't put a quest entry, but I didn't get it on my last playthrough, and would like to figure this one out.  Know anything about this?

Well, my Human Noble did get the chance to ask if he needed any help in tracking the elf down, but he declined. if your PC is an elf, you don't get this option at all, I think. Dunno about dwarves though...

I don't think it worked as a quest for my dwarf either.

Not one hundred percent sure, but I beleive this is related to the city elf storyline. There is an option to give money to a family that's leaving the elvin alienage in the start of that storyline. One of them is a girl with red hair. They're going to Ostagar I remember, but you can give them enough money to go elsewhere or stay.

No he talks about that elf even if you're a city elf and have the girl stay.

Only difference is he confused my character with the girl he was looking for till he got yelled at.

You can grab a sword by lying to the poor Elf fellow, telling him you'll deliver for him a particular sword to a noble man. I don't know how is the end as my Elven Mage has not lied to him eventually...

Personally, I think that bit has nothing to do with a quest, only to illustrate the racism that is rampant in the known world.
