I got this quest after saving Kirkwall, so I go to Wounded Coast, and I see the Bandit Leader, however, I can do nothing with him, he just stands there, no right click options, no fighting at all. Anyone that's done this quest can tell me if I've done something wrong?

I had the same problem. Was wondering if I'd carried it over to a new act by accident and just didn;t notice.

bandit leader? isit the winters?
if it is...you aren't suppose to talk to her...
when u go near the location...u will see her body guards and it will go into a cut scene...no right click or anything needed...o.o

I explored all of the Wounded Coast with this quest active.  I found a buggy bandit leader (highlighted if I held CTRL, but couldn't interact with it in any way), but couldn't find any trace of the quest.  There was no quest arrow on the map, and after completely exploring the area I was unable to turn anything up.

I was playing on 360 and I just saw some blond guy standing there that I couldn't interact with. Was that him?

glitched for me on ps3.
a blonde rogue guy, near the entrance ..sorta.
just standing there. cant interact, he doesnt talk. nothing.
if anyone finds a fix, post it here please

I had the same thing too, the Bandit Leader that just stood there, with no chance to interact with him. I did kill the scroll demon and a bunch of Tal Vas-whatevers, so I'm not sure if that is another thing to add to the pile of what goes on to cause the bug?

I ran into the Bandit Leader before I even picked up the first scroll or cleared the dungeon; so I don't think that is it. But I'm also having the same issue as everyone else here.

I had the letter for the quest, accepted it, but never had a quest icon for it on the map screen and when exploring the entirety of the Wounded Coast didn't even meet that bandit leader, so I think this quest is SUPER bugged...

I had the same issue on PS3.

It was one of two open quests that I wasn't able to finish due to glitches. I couldn't recover the heart of the Varterral during Act 2. The beasty was glittering, but I couldn't grab any loot.

This is a great game, but the number of glitches and the full-stop freezing (5 times for me) are a big problem. I'm not sure if or how this could be fixed for console gamers, but I hope something can be done.

Also glitched for me, with the random Bandit Leader standing around and doing nothing (I assume he must be attached to this quest or have something to do with its bugged state).

Same on PC. What's really wierd, I have the Strategy Guide, and that quest isn't even mentioned in there. I looked it up when I couldn't get it to work, but I found no mention at all.
