Someone could make screenshots of the game in low - med - high and max settings. I'd do it, but I'm in Europe so I'm getting the game later.

Then we atleast know how low 'low' will look. Too bad the consoles can't take screenshots (photo's aren't good enough), so we could compare.

Thats just it as well...I can't wait to get he game any longer than I already have too ha ha....so I'm assuming then I'll go the safe route and get the 360 version :/

Well, you're above minimum specs, so I'd say atleast low. Mediumish probably.

But if you're not too much into graphics, go for the pc version, since it's the way it's meant to be played. Console versions are just there to make more money.

Ha ha, I hear you brother!

Here is my beef, I recently picked up a game called Draken Sang.  I can usually push games pretty good to look very playable, but what happens is I get artifacting from my video card when I do this...so I'm forced to lower the settings so it's less taxing on the video card.

Makes much sence...

Again, this just goes back to wanting to know what it will look like.

I already know that my PC can run it because if my PC can run Crysis on high setting so i think that it can run Dragon Age

Well, we don't know that, so if you really want the game at day 1 and do not want to take the gamble, you should go for the 360 version yes. But the pc really is the way to go.

Oh and yes, I'm a pc fanboy. Never had a console in my life. So I might not be too objective on this subject

Wow, thanks so much for the feedback about dual and quad core processors, Bioware! Now I feel a lot more confident with the comp I've secured to play this game. The Old Behemoth:

(Let me know what you guys think, it's on the cusp of recommended settings but kind of a weird setup.)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ 2.41 GHz

2 GB RAM, Windows XP

X4 Nvidia Geforce 7950 GX2, 512 MB of video memory (Four of them running in... quad SLI? In four PCI express slots)

They're pretty old components, but I'm hoping the four graphics cards will allow me to play at high settings. I'm willing to play at 720P on my TV rather than 1080P in order to get the higher settings with some anti-aliasing.

What do you guys think?

I'll probably just get a Radeon 4870 or 5770 if I can't run the game at high. I'll wait and see how it runs with what I've got, though.

It's all good my man. If I had to pick, I would say I'm a console fanboy for pretty much the same reasons as you.

But I do enjoy my PC games...

My main problem is this. I watched a video a while back, I think it was 5 parts? Basically they had to retake a tower. There was all this awesome smoke blowing around and all that...now what I'm affriad of is if I get it for PC, and I may have to turn that stuff off...how will it affect the main game ya know?

Certain little graphic things like that add a whole ****E-TON to a story. Know what I mean?

Kind of annoying to think of how a single high-end card beats that setup today at most non-specialized games, that must have cost a fortune!

Regardless, you should be able to reach high settings unless the game does not take advantage of SLi at all.

(Even then you can probably get by with high settings).

Thanks a lot, Yenkaz! Here I was worried up until today that I would end up wanting to upgrade before I start the game. In the end, only trying the game will tell, of course, but I'm really glad I seem to be on the safe side.

I actually like the idea of replacing the four geforce cards, because they're incredibly loud, even at idle, and I also use the computer as a midi box for my keyboard.

Personally I've never spent more than 2000 dollars on a computer, and that's going back to the early nineties.  My brother bought this PC monster to celebrate when his company became successful, so he was basically just looking for the most expensive gaming PC on the market... in 2005, I think.

He stopped using it when Crysis came out and he realized it wouldn't run smoothly above medium-ish settings. I convinced him to give it to me last week :)

hey guys i was under the impression that quad cores were only used mainly for multithreading and most game worked off of one core so wouldnt a good dual core 3.2 and good video card nvidia 7950 512 run the game midium to high just asking thanks

Devs said that you don't need a quad-core (see the begin post aswell). A 3.2Ghz dual-core is more than enough.
Your GPU certainly is the bottleneck, but medium-high will work I think.

@yaghr: That'll work close to max, if not at max. So you're perfectly fine.

I just found out my current graphics card uses more power than a 3870, so no worries.

Your PSU sounded fine anyway though :)

Power consumption is probably a worse indicator than the amount of memory... I'm pretty sure actually.

You should always run the game in the native resolution for your screen. Else it's going to look messed up (unless you have an old CTR monitor, they don't have native resolutions).

Not at all.  In fact, running below native gives a "fake AA" effect that's often rather nice.

He's not above minspec in any meaningful way -- in fact the 7600GT *is* one variety of minspec.

As the bottom of the "medium" group of cards, the 7800gt = 20 pixel shaders + 8 vertex.  7600gt = 12 pixel + 5 vertex, and half the memory bandwidth.

So, yeah, low.

I have:

Windows Vista Home premium 64 bit

AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-core 2.40Ghz 64-bit

8 GB DDR3 Ram

1 GB Ati HD Radeon 4600

I have and 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor that can do 1080p

native resolution 1920x1080

How well will I be able to run this game? really looking forward to it.

Also I will be upgrading to Windows 7 Home premium 64bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated : )

You really have four GX2s?  I've never heard of a motherboard with more than three vidcard-speed PCI-E slots.  I suspect you *are* running quad SLI, which is just two GX2s (each of those being two GPUs on a single card).

In any case, I'd advise you to sell these for whatever you can get -- not because they won't run DA properly, but because it must be a giant pain.

Well, first, it depends which 4600 card -- 4650 or 4670?

These are both memory bandwidth limited, though the 4650 is much more so.  That means at high resolutions (like 1080p) they'll fall off.  So at native you may be limited to a bit above or below medium, depending on which of the cards it is.

At a lower resolution like 720p (or one of the other 16*9 alternatives -- 1366*768, 1600*900), you should be able to do high on the 4670 fairly easily.  The 4650 probably between medium and high.

Maximum graphics, though your processor will bottleneck you at times.
