My current system:
Liquid cooled
Intel Dual Core E8500 3.06 OC 4.12Mhz
8GB DDR2 PC6400ram
2x SLI nVidia 9800GT 1GB
Dual Raid 0 mirror Seagate 1TB 7200rpm SATA3 drives
Running Win7-64 bit

I'm pretty sure it will run it just fine since I can run Crysis2 cranked up. Just in case I've spec'd out a new i7 system and have it on standby order.

Too bad for you, even i7's won't run this baby. If you thought Crysis was heavy, you haven't heard enough of this game...

Ofcourse you'll do fine, and you know it. Btw, Crysis 2? Did they release something from that? I thought it was far away from such a point.

Not posting to see if i can run it just boasting.

Intel Duel Xeon Quad Core 3.0 GHz
16 gigs RAM
Duel Nvidia 9800 GT 1 gig cards
Creative X-Fi sound blaster

If you really want to impress me buy yourself a graphic card nvidia gtx 295 or the ati radeon 5870...the 16 gigs ram are overkill...my xp can only use 3 although I have 4gigs ram...quad core is good and will serve you well in the near future and the sound blaster doesn't matter anyway...

Alright I do not own an xbox 360 or ps3 so I want to be able to play the game on my laptop. Here are the specs:

Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz
3 GB of Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I am higher than the minumum requirements. I dont really mind turning down the graphics but i just want to be sure that it will run somewhat smoothly. If it is any indication I can play Crisis fine on Medium

Sorry I meant Farcry2, I was looking at Crysis2 in another browser when I typed that.  ;-)

Win7 isn't the memory hog Vista was and threadding looks like it is fixed, so I have pretty good hopes.

According to whom will Crysis 2 not run on an i7? Did you actually read this somewhere?

No, I was joking about this game. It's just that people who know that they're going to max it out, come here and ask if they'll even run the game.

I know nothing about Crysis 2, except that it's going to use DX11.

Oh yeah, those people are funny. Like that guy with the liquid cooled SLI system that would have been hot **** like 2 years ago when 9800's were still the rage.

16 gigs of RAM isnt over kill with a x64 based system (if you want to use all 4 that you have get a 64 bit OS), and it isnt one quad core its 2 quad cores. The graphic cards were the best when i bought them and i dont see the need to upgrade yet. the sound card came with the system and is nice for suround sound head phones or a 7 speaker set up.

You didn't even name the exact CPU that you have, or your sound card.  There are a million different Xeons and X-fi's.  Also your ancient dual 9800's are going to bottleneck long before you need 16GB of RAM in any game.

Of course, Hardware isn't the whole story either...

I have well above the recommended specs for Sacred 2 (Core i7-975, 12GB RAM, GTX 295, 1000W power supply, Win 7 x64, etc.) - however, there's some weirdness with Physx or drivers or possibly even OS compatibility and it chokes and dies within 5 minutes or less. My old machine was a Core 2 Quad Q6700 with 9800GT video and it ran Sacred 2 like a champ.

Other games scream on this rig (Saints Row 2, Oblivion, etc.) that were just 'meh' on the old machine.

I would say for those folks with borderline adequate hardware if you really want to attempt it without upgrading your machine, do everything you can to make the operating environment the best you can (latest drivers and patches, no unnecessary programs in memory, and a non-bloated antivirus / antispyware program) and it may buy you enough to get 'satisfactory' performance...

It will run ok on low settings(a dev described himself getting by with an 9300m gs, which is somewhat weaker, but with low FPS at times)

But I would really suggest getting the x-box version unless you are adamant about playing on the PC/having mods, it will have much nicer graphics than you would achieve with the laptop.

It should run medium on most resolutions(do not expect AA though)

Can my PC run it? I would much prefer to get the PC version but I have pretty high standards for PC games. If it can run without a hitch on medium settings I shall be satisfied. :) I have windows vista btw. P.S. I don't know anything about computers, practically, so if I missed something or there is something that's not needed to be known please tell me and I will edit

6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 build 6002 (it says service pack 1 on the computer but service pack 2 when I open system info)

NVIDIA GeForce GO 9600m GT 512MB

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.26 GHz

4.0 GB RAM

32 bit

Resolution 1366x768x59 hertz

Sorry again that I'm probably not giving you the right info but I'm not to good at computers.

There is no such thing as a "geforce go 9600 GT" so it is probably a 9600m GT.

You should be able to run the game fine at medium settings.

Hi, I'd like some one who is less computer illiterate than me to tell me if I can run the game on max settings:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

4.0 GB RAM

NVIDIA 8800GT

32 bit Vista (should I get 64bit?)

1680x1050 60Hz

Basically, yes, though maybe not with full AA and such. You don't need to *buy* 64 bit -- if you have access to a 64 bit disc, your 32-bit key will work on the install.

I don't think it will make a difference for Dragon Age either way, though.

Yes, you should ABSOLUTELY get 64-bit. As it is right now, only 3.2 GB of your 4 GB RAM can be utilized. A 64-bit OS will be able to use all of it.

(If you're a student, you can get an upgrade to WIN7 PRO for only $30, too. I did it, and highly recommend it)

But even on your current system you should be just fine for DA.

Though the whole 32-bit thing would bother me a lot -- you paid for that ram, might as well be able to use it all, right? :)

mine should run it.  The way i see it, as long as the game is released on the xbox 360 and the PC, they can't really make the two versions all that different right? so if your PC can play other games also released on the 360, then it should play DAO right?  anyway, my laptop can play both Oblivion and Mass effect on medium settings (though it works kinda hard sometimes, and prefers a rest every couple hours), so I think I'll manage.  My 360 is one of the first generation regular versions (maybe even the last one since I keep hearing of so many of them breaking), and it's rather dusty, so i doubt it could do any better, plus I like the PC controls better, if i have to have my game on lower graphics than i might have it I went 360, then so be it, that's a price I'm willing to pay.

anyway, enough chatter, here are my specs so you can see for yourself, is it good enough?
