 Aveline has a companion quest later on in the game called "A Long Road"  where you have to get Guardsman Donnic to go to the Hanged Man Pub.  I talked to Mr. Donnic and then went to the pub to meet him, he never got there.  In his barracks room is G-Donnic with the arrows over his head and everytime I try to talk to him he just spews out some nonsense.

I don't know how this occurred but if anyone else has been through this or knows of a way around it please let me know here or via emial @ VinnyI82@hotmail.com
