For some strange reason DA2 wants to use A: all the time it keeps tabbing me out to windows to complain I find this odd since I dont have a floppy drive or any drive with A

Its a known bug which they are looking into. Pressing cancel should allow you to play normally.

Have you tried running the game with the DX9 renderer?

Weird its still in there. I had it during to demo and again with the final release. Such a bug, that appears at the very start of the game, should have been solved by now

I had this problem, turns out it was because my BIOS was showing a floppy drive even though I don't have one. just reboot your system, hop into the bios config and dissable the A: drive, should do the trick!
