Anyone else having audio issues while playing the game? The whole time it sounds like I am in a cave. Everyone's dialog has an echo to it. It sounds very muffled and low quality. No other game I have played does this, just DA2. Updated video card drivers, using a card that came with my ASUS Rampage forumla motherboard, Supremefx II.

Force stereo is the equivalent to setting the speakers to 2 in the windows control panel but it also will set the sound engine to downmix the game from 5.1 to stereo. If this option is selected in game it will not take effect until you restart the game (you don't need to reboot your machine). You should not need to change speaker configuration in the control panel.

Make sure that any enhanced effects like eax and x-fi on the creative or realtek cards is disabled as it will be adding echo on top of the in game effects.

Thanks for posting the recording guys that's a big help. That echo is intentional and isn't currently tunable. I'll submit this as a fix for the next patch to reduce the amount of reverb especially for headphones or forced stereo setups.
