I also get this on and off; latest audio drivers and so on; seems be connected to being in echo locations, and then leaving, but not entirely certain.

Thanks for posting the recording guys that's a big help. That echo is intentional and isn't currently tunable. I'll submit this as a fix for the next patch to reduce the amount of reverb especially for headphones or forced stereo setups.

I’m not sure if this is exactly the same thing the others are reporting, but I find that the volume of my companions dialog is highly dependant on the camera orientation. It ranges from ok when facing them to unintelligible / barely audible when facing away. As it is, I often miss the start of their banter as I need to stop moving and swing the camera around to hear them. I realize an environmental audio algorithm is needed so you don’t hear every ambient noise in the level at once, but is there some way to adjust it so that the companions aren’t so strongly affected?

Why would that echo effect be intentional? I get it everywhere, including wide open outdoor areas where an echo is utterly misplaced. Please give us an option to disable it completely instead of just reducing it.

Hey MartinTheGrey. I noticed this as well when running the 5.1 setup in the game. Turning the "Force Stereo" option on helps quite a bit for me, but then you give up the 5.1 audio.

I have to agree with snow0815. I am sure that there is more going on here than we are aware but the echo appears in multiple locations where there should just be nothing. Also if you read MartinTheGrey's latest post you can see that there is other audio problems going on as well as the echo issue. Not to be an annoyance but if you read this post Carson Fee or any other Bioware Team Member, could you put in a request to check all audio code related to dialogue, or at least dialogue between party members. Thanks!

I am uncertain as to whether the patch had any effect on the echo issue. On the one hand it sounds a little reduced in severity. On the other hand that might just be because I haven't played the game in weeks. Anyway the patch notes don't seem to mention any sound changes.
So I suppose the question is, was the change added, and if so can you please add the option to eliminate the reverb entirely? Even if it's just telling us what files to edit ourselves to eliminate it from our games. And if this issue wasn't addressed in the patch does anyone at Bioware know whether it will be addressed in the next one?

Still having this issue. If it was an intended feature, I just wish they'd remove it... It's just so annoying and kills my immersion.
