How is it that Cullen the dude that freaks out about mages being evil in DAO in DA2 sees me using magic in front of him and does nothing to me? I mean no templars in the game I fight in front of say anything besides Wesley wtf?
Templars bad at their jobs?

I was just thinking recently while playing how utterly moronic they were. You have various Mages walking around town in the day with magical staves on their backs, and yet I guess the Templars just think it's a walking stick with a pretty gem and some lightning bugs inside?

I know a templar has to notice I'm a mage when I make like 6 guys explode around him with fire and ice spells <.<

I get that too. I know in DA: O you can run around like it's nobody's business because you're a Grey Warden. But I have no idea what the reason for DA2 would be. Maybe templars have selective seeing and hearing. lol.

Or, they might just be scared that every Mage they encounter from then on will turn out like Anders.

Well in the end Meredith does admit she's turned a blind eye too your magic, she's well connected, maybe she's interested in you and ordered the Templars too not mess with you for the time being. Mages too a point could pass off as rogues but that's a weak argument lol.

I think of it as a suspension of disbelief thing. Not everyone would enjoy having their game changed drastically by their choice of class. If everyone reacted to your use of magic DA2 would have been a very different experience for mage characters. Not to mention even if you're a warrior you most likely have mages in your party. So I think a lot of it is just handwaving by Bioware.
