So I've been tinkering with Anders and his personal talent tree as well as the creation tree and I am still coming up a little off on being able to use him at his peak potential. While I've only wiped a few times so far (from companions chasing mobs into other rooms and pulling the next group seems to be the biggest thing. AI fail.), I've has a few companions die unnecessarily because he is either out of Panacea range, has Heal on CD or ran outta mana and either I didn't get them to drink enough or the quick heal is on CD.
On top of this, I am having to drink health potions like water.
Anyone have any tips as to what sort of tactics I should set on him so that this doesn't keep happening?

Really...if all those things are happening (heal and quick heal on cooldown specifically), it sounds like your party may be taking too much damage as a whole. I had this happen to me often when I wasn't really paying attention to what my squishier characters were doing (e.g. that dwarf archer dude using the rain of arrows skill non-stop and pulling 3 or 4 guys a fight...yeah...not cool) thus making them take a hell of a lot of damage when they shouldn't be.
Not really sure if this'll help much, but maybe the problem isn't so much Anders not healing especially well as it is your teammates trying to be heroes and getting...well...slaughtered. I mean fact of the matter is there isn't that many healing spells anymore compared to Origins, which is a shame.
Plus finding a way to keep the panacea to affect everyone would be nice too. Can't help you there though haha.

That corner over that that makes enemy archer lose line of sight and run up to your warrior in a cluster is looking very attractive right now. If you can, abuse the terrain and you'll find encounter alot easier than if you fight where the enemy spawns.
