 Here is my situation:

I have found the dragon fang and the iron bark. However I have not run across any giant's spider silk glands yet. Before picking up this quest I did a bit of exploring and killed most if not all of the giant spiders. None of them dropped what I need. Have I missed something or did i bug this quest because I killed all the spiders prior to picking up this quest?

Any help would be much appicated, thanks.

I think it might be the one in the deep roads, there's a monstrous spider there during the expedition IIRC. Though I'm finished the game, how did you find the ironbark by the way? I couldn't seem to be able to speak to any Dalish to ask them where to find it (a bug I thought).

One of the dalish elves, I believe it was the weapons smith marked an area on the map for me. I had to tell him that i was looking for the iron bark.

The spider silk glands drop off of spiders in the Ruined Passage where you hunt the criminal for the magistrate. If you have already gone through there, I suggest you go back to the ruins. You'll find the gland in a pile of dead spider loot you undoubtedly missed.

I finally did find the gland exactly where you said it would be KingGato. Thanks for your help.

The Dragon Fang is looted from the final boss when doing "the bone pit" quest..

This is the only thing I have left to do before Deep Roads, but going back to the Ruins is sort of glitched. The game thinks its back on the Magistrate's son quest although I already completed it.

For example, the son literally appears out of thin air to follow me around once I enter the tunnel. Secondly, I cannot go past the large room because the exit trigger from the previous quest is still there blocking the way...

i can get all of them except the spider gland. but I completely cleared out the ruins before i ever got the herbalists quest.. i cant completely explore the ruins anymore because the exit is before you get to the big room..

is this unable to be completed because i got the quest too late?

Overdose, I had the same problem and that ruin is definitely glitched.

Despite this, I realized that for me at least, the Spider Gland was in the first larged sized room before the exit mid way just sitting there.

I must have missed it the other times through.

i am going to check again after work, hopefully i can still find it. love this game.. but have run into some annoying glitches/bugs so far

Hey Guys working on this one to, but I can't get the quest for the magistrates son to even get into the ruins. Is there a pre-req quest to this one? I can't even see/find the magistrate out in the front of the chantry. Any help is much appretiated.

I'm having the same trouble with the Spider Gland.. I saw it drop from one of the spiders from the Ruined Pasage but when i picked it up, i didnt get any credit/update for it. Does it update when you're not on the herbalist quest yet?

when you go in the ruins, the silk gland is just to the left in the first bigger room on the left.
it is behind some pillars sort of.
i just found it.

does anyone have the problem where their tasks in their journal disappear after they complete the Herbalist Task mission? After I gave him everything, all my current quests were gone. There is nothing to expand either when I press A.

Honestly.. I don't know where the spider silk gland is.. I have killed and looted everything.. just shy of going into the final area to deal with the demon possessed son.. I kill him dead with my angst of not getting my spider silk gland... the fool..

Heres the problem if you do the Magistrate Son quest before you pick up Herbalists task or you happen to miss looting it you cant go back. The dead spider is behind the now changed door into exit in the main room. You cant walk through the exit to get past it.
