So i made a thread in the general topic on this and it seems it should be in here... at least for the PC:
http://img696.images...11031002033.jpg

On the 360... well... it's not, or at least i dont have any control over this. Meaning i need to pick up every item to actually inspect and compare. So i assume it's a bug? glitch? or something. my apolozies if it's not a bug, but an actual desginer choice for the console versions.

The X button doesnt even do anything when youre in a loot menu, it could easily have been implemented, but i doubt bioware will add this functionality. I seriously am disappointed something so simple wasnt put in the game in the first place, and i doubt its a bug as it made it all the way to the final game and its pretty darn obvious its missing.

I for one want this functionality, and think it would be easy to implement, or would have been if they hadnt decided to leave it out beforehand. I wouldnt hold your breath for them to fix this, but boy would i love to be wrong.

Agree completely. I have to periodically go into the inventory and see what all the miscellaneous amulets and rings I find actually are. Would be so much better if I could know when I pick them up.

Yes, I would of liked this feature, which isn't really a feature, but a standard among games with loot. Although, why wouldn't you pick everything up anyways, OP?

That's not the point. The point is that this feature is in the game, but not on the console versions (Xbox 360... not sure about the PS3 version), which seems like a mistake on the development side. Also this was in the first game on all platforms, which just adds up to my point.

If you would like to know why i dont pick up is that i like to have my bags "clean" of junk and stuff i wont use since they refill fast if i do pick up everything. I'm also causious about selling to much items in this game because last time i did that in Origins i got so much memory leakage and corrupted saves. I will wait a few months until i know for a fact that it wont happen in this game, but right now it's just a thing i do. Image IPB

Ah, my point to your point was that it was mentioned. I didn't have a problem with clearing my inventory every twenty minutes or so, all the while making precious gold.

I seriously doubt having a full inventory corrupted your files. I had 1 file become corrupt in DA: Origins through eight or nine playthroughs. And by memory leakage do you mean missing inventory? Perhaps you blacked out and sold random items.

Regardless, I agree, we should have this feature implemented on our console. Does the PS3 have it?

Maybe that's the problem. Gold. I just like to earn my money through quests and loot, not selling. In all RPG's i can sell items i always get to much at the end, which i dont like.

No, they got corrupted because i was selling to much crap to the same merchant. Just look up the patch 1.04 notes for the xbox 360 and you'll see.

By memory leakage i mean that the game takes longer to load and verify that bodies are dead so you can pick up the loot.

I could care less how the item compares to my current item (as I'll be checking myself anyway), but I would like the option to see what the item I'm about to pick up actually does.

Actually, there are two things I encountered that mAkes this more than an inconvenience. (unless I'm missing something). 1) gifts I can see it is a gift, but can't figure out who the gift is meant for. and if I pick the Gift up - then the game auto gifts it next time I talk to the right companion, whether I want to or not. I can't find anywhere to examine or stash it away in my inventory, so I'd like to know who it is for to decide if I want to pick it up. 2) Armor upgrades. If I don't have the person in my party, and since I can't examine the pick-up item I can never figure out whose armor upgrade I picked up. ARGH. Why is this so screwed up. I wish they would fix it.

That's exactly the point. As mentioned; it was in Origins on all platforms and it's on the PC version in this game. Before picking up items there should be a promp saying "X (Inspect)", but it's not there. For me it seems like a glitch. Of course it's nothing major, but i would appreciate if anyone from the developer team could address this as a bug or a design decision for the consoles. Even if it makes no sense.

I will bring this up until it's closed or addressed, simple as that. I will not spam this thread either, but i will respectfully bump it.

It was my understanding this was intentional for whatever reason, my guess being a memory thing as our game is quite tight on both consoles. I'll ask someone who would know for sure though.

I miss this feature too, since sometimes it's impossible to tell what you just picked up. If you are a hoarder (like me) and have more than one screenful of rings/amulets/belts, the "hey! new item!" icon can get erased before you see it as you scroll down. It would be nice to know who is getting the armor upgrade or the gift, as well.

Somewhat off topic, I really really REALLY appreciate your taking the time to reply to forum stuff, Luke. Just knowing somebody is listening helps a ton.
