So anyone figure out what the barrels are suppose to do, when your in the Fade?

It gives an attribute point if you put the big ones on the bottom and small ones on top.

I cannot for the life of me get the first one to work, every time i get close to the point of just having to move one barrel it triggers the fight.

I'm having an entirely different problem. Moving them within the limited spaces I can do just fine, my issue is that I'll click them and the puzzle breaks! Instead of the barrel moving to the single open space, like a proper slider puzzle, instead I end up having it move through the floor, or the wall, or up into empty space outside the puzzle frame! Or into another barrel (I even got a screen shot of that one, it was just to absurd!)
And of course, once they've done this they cease to function at all and I have to reload the my save and start the puzzle over. Something tells me they didn't bug test this Fade mission any better than they did the ones in DA:O

I think it's poor design to have a puzzle with no clear objective that spawns a fight for no clear reason and that is unusable afterwards.

So I finally got it to work... Apparently the issue lies in pop-ups. If you're playing the game in windowed mode the puzzle breaks if you receive a pop-up such as receiving a flashing window bar from receiving a message, or from getting a little window pop up at the bottom right with the contents of a recent IM such as Steam, Yahoo IM and AIM have.
In order to get it to work I had to exit my game out of steam, reload it directly through the My Games file, and change to full screen mode... This almost worked, then a friend IMed me and immediately after wards the barrels glitched again.
Exited out of Yahoo, AIM, and steam, reloaded my save, tried the puzzle again. No pop-up notices, no glitches with the puzzle.
All I can think to say now is: What the?

Yeah I'm playing on 360 and I cannot get the "Barrel" text to appear for some barrels. You have to stand in a very specific position to get it to come up and for some barrels it doesn't so you have to rearrange the puzzle carefully to ensure you don't trigger the fight. Bioware really stuffed up here.

if playing on a console, hold down the left trigger or L2 to bring up your select wheel. don't click anything in the wheel, just use the target in the middle to click on the specific barrel you want.
