@XxSint0rasxX yeah, my optimism is a little fragile atm, but trying to see the bright side of it.. if a hotfix doesn't come out in the next 2-4 days i'll just go get my money back ^^

I don't get the point... Why the hell are they pre-purchasing a game and then forbid the activation?
I mean: Whuay let them buy the game before the official release. If they can't play, so what?

I really don't like this release date checker, it's pointless at this point and the only reason I can't play the game. Nothing has worked so far and I'm getting frustrated. Oh well.. I guess I can't do anything but wait because I'm not going to take my chances with my problem solving skills or anything like that. :pinched:

My system requirements are fine, I have installed the game, registered it and in the last the "day release check" starterd.
No mention on how the check has gone but then i got an error: "An error has occourred during the installation. Repeat the istallation."

Any Ideas!?
It's 11 March 12:51 in Europe now... should I have to wait 8 pm untill it is 2 pm in USA !?... Bioware you are getting me ******

I`m from Poland, same problem with insufficient privileges. I have Win XP with admin account. But I am not suprised with such problems on release day, it`s quite typical recently. And I must say I`m not so angry, I believe in Bioware. ;)

They'll figure out what to do sooner or later.. Just a bit sad that so many people got dissappointed because of a premature release :S

Agreed :) Now there's more time to play Dragon Age Origins when they are searching for problems :D

I had that one.  EA Support suggested that I uninstall, create a brand new admin user account, and install and validate the game from there.  It sounded a bit dumb -- but it worked.  And now that it's gotten the validation out of its system, I can play it from my regular account too.

(Now if they'd just fix that darned drive A problem...)

greetings from germany...i got the same "guest account issue" too (signature edition is here since regional release)...i updated my windows xp version today (its my fault not updating it for a few months) and then i got the "awc.dll error"...thought that this was it...just updated NET framework and there: "guest acc - issue" again ~.~

but hey sht happens...dont blame bioware for such a release. actually it seems like THEY are the ones helping us...after all their reputation is at risk.
ok ok i was kinda angry too because i wanted to play the game since i gave them my money and wanted to chill out after my work...BUT maybe this anger came because i didnt knew what to do else this last evening.

maybe a lot of us ppl here should calm down, drink some tea, visit someone...dunno :D...its just a game after all and even if i cannot play it this weekend...then i will do it later...it doesnt run away from me an the world goes down in 2012 as we all know !

AND maybe bioware gives us some sort of "reparation"...bonus outfits for chars/more skins for customization/a bonus mission

sorry i know i drifted away from topic...but i had to say that :)

This should have not happened in the first place. This is why you test things before you release them. Its sloppy and unprofessional. And they better be working on a fix and helping us out if they want to stay in business.

I will try to, as suggested above. Create a new admin account and try from there. Who knows, maybe I get lucky...

You`re absolutely right. I think the worst what we can do right now is to try strange things with our computers-reinstalling game, updating and other stuff. IT WON`T HELP, you will get angry even more. I know because I was trying in the morning such things. So I strongly suggest just to wait.

I know its not healthy, but a part of you wants to fix this problem soley for the reason of fixing it. You have something. it does not work. what do you do to get it fixed.... Try anything you can think if. If it does not work. Scream and walk away... :P

Or you're virtuous and wait patiently for someone who's got a better understanding of the problem to come up with a solution. To which you'll proclaim your undying love for that person and worship the ground that he/she walks upon.

Like so many others, the game keeps claiming I'm on a guest account or a non-admin one, but as people can probably guess, I'm playing on an admin account. I'd appreciate it if this was fixed ASAP, but as things stand, I'd have to give the game a rating of 0 due to the account of being utterly unplayable. I don't know how this bug even made it into the title at launch, but I'll bet that the blame can be placed the idiotic DRM(as always sadly).

Cool, but what happens to those of us who bought the game through the EADM? we cant choose when to install, you can either download or uninstall... ill try to lucnh the game with AVG off and with the Firewall exceptions...

Let us know what happens

I did it!!!

Here is what i did to make the game lunch:

Added this exeptions to my AVG anti virus: The Folder where the game is installed & my windows profile account.
Added all the .exe i found on the game folder to my firewall exceptions.
Lunched the game under direct 9 at first and the under 11 and in both cases the game was able to be played. I didn't install the Beta drivers for my ATI Card, i just installed the latest official drivers.

Cheers :wizard:

Windows Vista, computer similarly matches the requirements.
After the release date check, nothing seems to happen each time I click on the .exe file fron the bin_ship folder!! (issue with the system configuration check, thus I use the bin_ship exe file).
So depressing!
