Interesting thing, that the only really working thing is downloading a crack. Customers get their asses kicked and illegitimate downloaders are already playing with no disfunction at all.

Nice one -.-

So anything new in relation to the whole Release Date Checker problem?

Not that i'm aware of...Not had an update since....saturday sometime I believe....so still waiting

Just to be sure I have done everything, this is a list so far:

-updated my bios
-updated the ati drivers (on a brand new card just put in)
-made sure I'm the administrator
-disabled my Anti-virus
-uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times.

System Specs:
Gigabyte ga-x58a-ud7
Sapphire Radeon HD 6950
6 GB of ram

I personally believe that it is indeed the DRM. Like the others here, I have not reached that screen asking me to log into my account and activate my game. I have registered the game on the social network already, but I doubt that matters. I truly hope a patch comes soon :(.

Can't they just give those with registered serials a download link for missing files?

"Dragon Age 2 has stopped working".

Erm, I finally set them game to DX-9 in the Configuration tab and it seems to work. I'm kind of dumb with computers and never understood where I was supposed to change it to DX-9. Instead of hitting "Play", hit the "Configuration" tab, go to the Video tab and you'll see where you can change your DX. Grrr. Let's hope there's no more bugs.

Well, having the same problems here. I honestly think this is rather redicolous. I´m not starting to temper with adminrights, since i´m not sure what consequences it might have. I bought the game, it should run out of the box on a standard win 7 machine.
I really like Bioware for their games, but if this isn´t solved soon it sure was the last money they got from me.
I´m a paying costumer, never the less they treat you as a potential thief with their neverending drm checks.
Yes, im ranting a bit here, but I really believe they´re going too far with their controls. It won´t stop piracy, jut bugging the paying costumer.
Just my 2 cents,
and still hoping I´ll get this one working soon.

3rd party DRM, what could go wrong? Yeah right. Bioware, don't leave us hanging here.

I can never seem to get pass the Introduction...
I play the first part where I'm decked out....
Then I play it thru the part where I'm with my Mother, Brother, Sister, Husband, and Wife, and take out the Spawn, talk to the lady, and watch the movie where we've been sailing for days, it goes to the loading screen, and just stays there, but the moment I shrink my screen to desktop, it says my game has stopped working....
I love the game, just hate not being able to go any further then that.....  Posted Image

Plus I've tried switching it to DX9 to see if that did anything, and it was a fail....

You ARE the Admin, so you CAN temper with your rights ;-))

Don't take this too serious :)

I had the:" Application is unable to run on guest account or Widows accounts..." problem.
I tried the patch but it didn't fix it.
Finaly I updated my bios and it solved the problem.
Now it's running perfectly

got the "dragon age has stopped working" error, too. I´ve tried everything so far (driver updated, changed to dx9, activated admin account via cmd, reinstalled game, even reinstalled windows 7!!!). same problem as mentioned before. Game crashes after the release date check (I think it reaches 100%, but cant tell for certain, it finishes very quickly). The only time I saw the ea registration window was when I installed the game on my girlfriends notebook.
My girlfriends notebook uses a Intel VGA onboard graphic, so I dont think that the problems accure because of driver issues or stuff (I´m sure she didnt update the driver since day one  )
I think the problem lies in the DRM program. Hope that bioware can fix this soon.

I have the "There is a problem with your game's setup.  Please reinstall your game." error.  I've tried multiple fixes, have talked to EA three different times today, anyone have any suggestions?  I've been working on this for hours now and still can't seem to get it to work.

Someone really screwed up this protection system. It is been crackeded maybe before the release of the game and only affected are paying customers... It is some kind of betatest of new DRM?
(I think, that this is the only one beta test which you must paid for)

Will be there a solution soon, or we really need to use cracked executable from internet? If we must so, please update licence agreement and enable us to use our DLC via cracked ... It is sad. So sad.

OK guys, here again:

Regarding EV#52959 - the "guest account" trouble, the following solution worked for me (WinXP):
WMI - Misconfiguration repaired and re-registered:

1.) Press START - RUN, type CMD
2.) Within the Command Prompt type: net stop winmgmt
3.) Using Windows Explorer, navigate to: c:windowssystem32wbemrepository
4.) Delete everything that's IN the repository directory (= FS Directory and $Winmgmt.cfg)
5.) REBOOT your computer
6.) Press START - RUN, type CMD
7.) Within the Command Prompt type:
winmgmt /clearadap     (Enter)
winmgmt /kill                  (Enter)
winmgmt /unregserver  (Enter)
winmgmt /regserver      (Enter)
winmgmt /resyncperf   (Enter)
Exit
---------------------------
After that I could activate the game and start playing.

If this alone doesn't help:

If you have just done "my solution above" try this now:
START - RUN - type CMD
Within Prompt command type: net user administrator /active:yes
Then try to start the game.
If this doesn't work either, repeat 1.) - 7.) (after setting administrator active)

That finally did the trick for me. Thx 4 it!

:P

I can't get this to work, i'm in the "administrator" user, i use "net stop winmgmt" and it stops but when i try to delete the files in repository it says the files are in use by "application experience" and can't be deleted. I found the "application experience" service (with ctrl+alt+del) but it's already stopped. I have windows 7 64-bit.

Day 4 and still no DA2.. Posted Image

I used a program called unlocker (it's a freeware) to get rid of these files in repository directory. Hope this helps.

Well, I finally made it (it seems)
Since I already was a god aka admin, I deinstalled the game, rebooted, turned of antivir/firewall - installed the game (again) - installed the latest videodriver - installed directx manually from the dvd - started the launcher - passed the holy drm check - got to the start screen - quit game - reenabled antivir/firewall - installed dlc - still able to start the game - lucky me so far.
